Posted on the previous thread, someone mentioned we only have two back to back days off in March. I'm sure he'll get some rest then. |

Maybe, just maybe, Arcobello will replace Craig Adams on the Pen's roster, and finally rid you of your most beloved skater! |

As mentioned in the last thread, IF MAF is not our starter in the playoffs we are F'ed anyways. Trade Greiss for cap space, trade for Jagr, and F Sutter.

Watching the Caps-Flyers game last night they had said Holtby was playing in his 20th straight game and I was wondering what the hell the Caps were thinking, he is going to get burned out. But that got me wondering where Fleury was in comparison with other starters and so I was looking at that this morning. And he is tied for 9th most games played, so not too bad, but I agree we should probably give him a few more nights off down the stretch. I like Greiss and think he is more than capable of handling a bigger role for a while. Most of the guys playing those heavy workloads don't have solid backups behind them like Fleury does, so there just isn't any reason to overwork him. Although he should be in there for every game they wear the 3rd jerseys with his yellow pads, because that is awesome. |

Hey my pre-free agent roster isn't too far off what we have right now, I was the ONLY one that wanted Downie before we got him.
Defend your comment, what is it you hate so badly? |

Ooooo... Ryan with the real facts putting some ice water on our expectations... Oh well, I still say he is gonna become another Tyler Kennedy for us. |

I don't have an issue with trading Greiss... I think Zatkoff is just as capable, but Greiss would merit a bit more of a return.
But, I do not get the obsession with Jagr... no matter how much of an inhuman beast he seems, that is just too damn risky for a playoff run.
WWJJD now stands for Jussi Jokinen :D

Trading Greiss! Low cost, better than average numbers. That and the whole Jagr thing, we're a fast team. No need for a guy that is slowing down taking PP time and a top six role from any of the guys currently on the team. |

Haha, Jags isn't risky at all if used properly, he could provide exactly what we need, incredible hands and a undisputable scoring touch. |

We were a fast team in 09' as well and Billy G certainly wasn't that but he was a match made in heaven. |

And if his age finally becomes a reality, and hes looking as slow as Hal Gill in the 3rd period for us? Can we tar and feather ya? |

He was also younger with a completely different game. |

All we need is someone to shoot the puck effectively, and he can still do that for sure.

Ok... to counter that point... don't you think there are cheaper and less risky options than Jagr for that? You aren't crazy, I think |

I think the Pens tried to recreate the Guerin formula when they went and got Brendan Morrow. |

With the skill Jagr still has, I honestly don't think so.
My second choice is Glenncross |

Well, its just a difference of opinion in this regard. I think there are a number of players who would score as well as Jagr, without the risk of braking a hip. |

No doubt on that. I'm worried he wouldn't get there in time 5 v 5, and if he did push his pace there's always his groin which has sidelined him quite a bit.
Then there's his salary |

I also think the key difference too was that Guerin had the experience of being traded lots of times and going to different rooms. His personality certainly helped, but he knew how to jump into a new atmosphere.
Both Morrow and Iginla were traded for the first time after spending their whole adult lives in one organization. It was too much of not stepping on anyone's toes and just trying to fit in. |
