I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think we need anyone else. I would be completely confident going into the playoffs that we can make a cup run.

Perron-Crosby-Hornqvist
Kunitz-Malkin-Bennett
Comeau-Sutter-Downie
Spaling-Goc-Arcobello
*Dupuis?

Letang-Martin
Ehrhoff-Bortuzzo
Scuderi-Despres

MAF
Greiss

That is an all around solid team with depth. Of course we have a few forwards who can come fill if need be (hope not) and a few prospect D that can come in as well. Where would someone like Tlusty even fit in? It's not worth selling that last few prospects we have for a rental, especially when we have only 1 pick in the top 90 next year. Also, Dupuis may come back as a fresh body

I have zero expectations for Arco. He's a small guy who's skill set is top 6 but wasn't even good enough to stick with Edmonton. Plus he's a natural C. Combine those two things with the fact that we want him to play fourth line wing and I doubt he lasts long in the line up.

"His sample size isn't huge"...
You're comparing him to goalies who have played 3-4x more than him only... The devils fans were banking on the playoffs thus year on the sole notion that scheinder would play the majority of the games and that he would maintain the.925 save percentage or whatever he had in 20 or 30 game drains. As we know, that's not working out so hot.
I agree greiss is worthy of more games, heck I'm even sure MAF is the better goaltender here.

I would like to see MAF get a lesser workload in the second half of the year. I thought Greiss would play more than he has but MAF has been so good this season.

Once healthy, we don't need anyone.

I think the discussion about another piece is being had because we are never healthy.

Posted on the previous thread, someone mentioned we only have two back to back days off in March. I'm sure he'll get some rest then.

And there's the correct answer. No need not to play Fleury with this 2 games a week business.

I have one expectation. That he brings more to the table than Sill or Adams. That's it. If he can do that, then good pickup. If not or if he does and those 2 stay in the lineup over him then he will be a disappointment, but a no risk one at that.

I love Jagr. I probably approach Ryan Wilson fanboy status regarding Jagr. I would love to see him in a Pens uniform, but...

Would the associated distraction of reacquiring him not have a detrimental effect on this team moving forward toward the playoffs?

Basically, would a move such as this be too much of a disruption?

I say, if it is to be done, make it sooner rather than at the deadline.

Another rip on Sutter using Marcabello this time. How original. Time for someone to grow up. First Goc should be the third line center and now Arcobello is on the same level as Sutter? Got it.

Did you read? If you did you totally missed the point. He said that despite the fact that Arco has had the same general production as Flats it was due to his primarily offensive use, getting top 6 minutes, and having above league standard wingers. RW's point is that Arco was an underachiever in Edm and at no point hinted that he can take over 3C duties in the Berg.

I would love for Arco to prove me wrong. I like the guy and his general underdogness as an undersized forward. I just don't see how he's a better option than Rust who the organization apparently doesn't see as a better option than Adams, so I just don't see the point. I mean, I'm not mad. There is literally zero risk. I just don't expect him to make an impact.

I like stories about likable underdog hockey players.

I like stories that are well written.

I like stories where I learn something.

This piece on Bobby Farnham is all three:

I thought it was a really good read.

Arco is a rich mans Brian Gibbons.

Also, always be aware of inflated stats of average players playing on crappy teams. I believe we can call this the D*ck Tarnstrom Corollary.

I watch a ton of Oilers games. He's nothing even remotely special. Not even average IMO.

I can honestly say I think I'd rather dress Adams in a playoff game.

Zero chance of them acquiring him, but I think it would be a locker room debacle.

I'd give it a week before he would start pouting about his TOI or PP usage.

And a month before he'd be dying alive.

Andrew Ebbett on waivers today...

Interesting that it looks like they will go into this busy 4 games in 6 days stretch with only 12 forwards and 6 defensemen.

I guess the location of the games helps last minute call ups if needed, though.

Can he refuse or get sick just prior? If I recall his last AS game didn't go so well. I like where his head is right now, lets not mess with anything.

Heck it already started. Good thing he is more worried about that than the possibility of winning a Cup.
