Are there really Adams and Sill defenders? Did anyone really have high expectations for either of them? My impression was that yeah they suck but the Pens dont have anyone else in the farm that's any better so they make do with what they have. |

The way I look at it as a homer is that if Miller's save percentage balances out to career norms that means his save percentage from here on out should be rock solid and the team is already sitting near the top of the West/league
He has almost as many shutouts as losses |

Picking Sill and Adams as your favorite players on the Penguins is like eating tofu and salad on thanksgiving. GTFO |

No one in Vancouver thinks Miller is a turkey. He has outright stolen games the Canucks had no business winning. you are putting far to much stock in stats on this claim. |

He is, hands down, the worst Hurricanes player I have seen since, I dunno, Jesse Boulerice? Josef Melichar? Wade Brookbank? |

Setoguchi on waivers. Get'em. Don't care if he doesn't last just pull the trigger. If anything it is a depth move and we send him down later in the same process. No way he gets outplayed by sill. |

re: Umberger - This one really does look bad. I mean, I expected it'd get poop on regardless, but there's really no way around this. There was clearly a culture change (I am not a big fan of the message sent here btw, but that's another story) and salary cap motive behind the Flyers moving Hartnell. Hextall identified a player he thought could contribute in a bottom six defensive role and maybe chip in some points, while getting us some cap relief down the line.
Instead, we got a guy who hasn't looked good on either side of the puck. He's every bit the anchor some expected him to be. In retrospect, I think the Flyers could've done much better in a Hartnell trade. I do wonder how hard Hextall actually worked the phones on this one.
re: Briere - My first reaction was that it sounded like a cap dump. The Avs were clearly getting less of an asset back in Briere, but his contract expires a year sooner. I don't know what they would needed the space, and I don't really watch the Avs or know much about PA Parenteau, to be honest. idk
I still love Danny B though. |

does anyone have a word on beaus injury?
oh and remember when everyone gave me a hard time for calling him a little girl because he always gets hurt...well I know this one wasnt his fault, I know hes not actually a little girl, probably none of the injuries were directly his fault, but the fact remains, he lasted less than 10 games and is now injured yet again |

lower body, out a few weeks. Not bad considering how it looked. Could have been a tear. Probably just a sprain. |

mcl or high ankle? MCL has to be closer to 4 weeks and a high ankle sprain could be the same... or if it was just a slight strain it could be closer to 3 weeks I guess
based on BB's recovery past, id say itll take 3 surgeries and 15 months of rehab...for a knee sprain |

Totally agree, I think it's time to stop thinking this kid is the answer on the top 6, because he is made of glass. |

I don't think people are really doing their homework on Perron. Sutter is better than him and it isn't really that close. Sutter is playing some really good hockey for us right now, easily our most consistent forward I don't see why anyone would want to trade him for anything but a star winger.
Eberle is a star so I would be okay dealing sutter for him, but I'm pretty sure that pick would have to be a first or that prospect a Pouliot.
Spaling for picks? Why? Maybe you get a 2nd and very unlikely a second turns out better than Spaling and certainly not in our contention window. Spaling is a bit overpaid, but he is still a responsible effective 3rd liner who isn't afraid to play in the tough areas.
We need 1 great top six player and we should be trying to get that player with dmen prospects and our 1st.

Canes brought him in because the players said they wanted an enforcer on the team. After about a month it became painfully obvious the guy was utterly useless.
Still, managed to trade Brookbank, Melichar and a 4th for Jussi Jokinen. |

Completely disagree... Perron floats around 40-50 points... Sutter's popped 40 one time and ever since floats closer to 30.. and usually on the minus side of things.. as good as Sutter is playing right now... I don't think he is as good as Perron.. but I don't think the disparity is huge either.
EDIT: BUT I would NOT want to trade Sutter FOR Perron... I'd rather try and give up a prospect or 2... |

Seriously? You just made everyone here very happy if that is a real offer. We have been debating it for a while what it would take to get him. |
