Don't want Richards back at all on the Flyers Unless he replaces either one of, Umberger,Vinny or MacDonald - twpguy
We'll take MacDonald back.
But you have to send him on a one-way trip via the Wayne-Train |

Richards stats may have decreased in recent years but an after thought? I think not. You want to compare the two.
Richards
673GP 176G 297A 473PTS. ( .70 PPG)
Playoffs
124GP 26G 61A 87PTS. ( .70 PPG)
2 x Stanley Cup Winner
3 Stanley Cup Finals appearances
1 Olympic Gold Medal
1 Calder Cup Trophy (AHL)
Selke Trophy nominee
That's a hell of an after thought
Kesler
672GP 187G 220A 407PTS. ( .61PPG)
Playoffs
57GP 12G 26A 38PTS. ( .67PPG)
1 Stanley Cup Finals Apperance
1 Selke Trophy
1 Olympic Silver Medal
I'm not saying Richards is valued higher at this point in his career but I do believe he would still be a valuable piece to a team that can put him in the right fit.
This season
Richards 16GP 2G 5A 7PTS 15:26MPG
Kesler 17GP 5G 9A 14PTS 20:16MPG - RobFlyers#1
You forgot to mention that he has been apart of 2 teams that came back from 0-3 deficits.

True. I also didn't mention he holds the record for most career 5 on 3 short handed goals with 3. |

You've missed the whole point, I'm not talking about his past, I'm talking about his present, last year and this year. Why do you think his name is mentioned as a possible buy-out, or now trade rumors? He scored 11 goals last year and he's been assigned to the fourth line, I'm wondering why?
I like the kid and I know he's got a lot of miles on him, I just can't believe he's "lost it"? Maybe a change of scenery is what he needs to get the juices flowing again? |

I remember the debates on who was better, from the 2003 draft, Ryan Kesler or Mike Richards. Doesn't seem to be much of a debate now; what happened to Richards? Kesler is still excelling as a second line center and he's still an integral part of a great Ducks teams, Richards seems to be an after thought now. - LeftCoaster
afterthought with two cup rings now, yeah. |

Richards to TO for Holland and Robidas.
Makes sense for both sides! - Byfuglien Ate Me
but not cap wise for the leafs |

Stanley Cup rings are a team thing, one guys doesn't win you the Cup or Marcel Dionne would have multiple rings. |

Why are you guys even making trade proposals? You do know that the only reason the Kings would trade Richards is for cap relief right? So the Kings will be looking for picks/prospects only and these prospects will likely be not NHL ready nor carry more than $1 mil cap hit. Otherwise they would NOT be trading him, if he is even on the block.
I would say it would take a 1st and 2nd. Or a 1st and decent prospect. But at least a 1st.
Richards actually has a lot of value still even though his production isn't what it was like when he was on Philly. Philly fans should know this. Having a guy like that in your locker room does a lot for your team so him as an "after thought" cracked me up when I read that. |
