So the Burrows hit... what's up with that?

Haven't seen a replay yet. was it bad?

- Pecafan Fan

not the hardest hit, but point of contact was still the head. Should have been a penalty in my opinion.

You have to wonder what the refs are looking at during a game.

I'm not really complaining, because they are winning. But the reality is, the convincing performances are few and far between. Lots of those games could easily be losses if it wasn't for lucky bounces in the 3rd period. Now, they have the luxury to pile up points early on, which is great. But their overall game leaves a lot to be desired. Hope they figure it out, quick.

exactly, there's some positives but not as many as you'd like to see.

gonna be a tough market to not overpay in right now

I guess, but a few teams are already out of the playoff picture.
I keep thinking there is a deal to be made with Arizona.
Find a magical way to include Eller++ in a deal that would bring a guy like Antoine Vermette + depth defenseman.
Local boy, good on the powerplay, not too expensive...

We all had a bad feeling about that road trip and honestly, it seems like every time the Habs go on a western trip, it's a completely different team. No major injuries, line experiments, we can wait a week or two before complaining, me thinks.

That said, I'm pretty Bergevin has a few fishing lines right now for trading for some help on defense. (edit : offensive defenseman to be precise)

I always thought so.

it was one of the worst in the league. their ranking was like 19th or something, but they got off to a hot start in October. it's been about a calendar year that the PP has been this bad. but every PP, what's the first line out there? DD/Pacioretty/Gallagher. Plekanec and Galchenyuk stapled to the bench. Desharnais is the easiest player in the league to defend on the PP.

You and I both know (cuz we're old) that an 8-2-1 record is indicative of strong play. Has it been consistent? Obviously not. Has every player played to his potential? Obviously not - not sure any one of them has. But the fact is, they have found ways to win games without a PP. Their PK has gotten much stronger. Faceoffs are a plus. Galchenyuk is about to burst out. Etc, etc. Let's wait and see how the second month goes.

Yeah, DD would thrive only when the other 4 teammates on the ice are 6' 4" 230lbs power forwards who crash the net and wait for a nice pass.

Whomever it is, they need a potent LH shot on the right side if PK is at the top, or even at the left. It's become extremely easy to stop their PP, and they need to adjust it.

my thinking is, yeah, they weren't good on this trip. but there are 2 trips this team makes each year where all you care about is survival: Western Canada and California. this was a vicious trip, logistically. 3 in 4 nights with travel the day before, game the night before that. there's just no way you're going to see a team at their best. it's the same thing when the Western teams comes East and get shellacked. i wouldn't worry too much style points in these games. the only clunker was Calgary and you could see that coming from a mile away. if Calgary dominates them on Sunday, then it's time to worry.

I know they are 1st in the league, with a record that is enviable.

But this whole "finding ways to win", with the way they are playing, will turn into "finding ways to lose" if they don't turn that poop up real quick.

- Pecafan Fan

they need goal support for the 3rd and 4th line
