See I just remember a constant questioning of the twins all playoffs until the sj series and than after ...while kesler played teows well and won the Nash series almost on his own than got hurt and kinda disappeared
- Redmile247

Kesler lost Toews late in game 7 and he cut to the net to score the goal that tied the game pushing us into overtime iirc. He played him well in that series but at the same time nearly cost us a 1st round exit.

Kesler was a scoring second liner/1st pp unit. No goals outside of the Pred series except for the goal in the SJ series which was his last.

That game 7 is a little blurry for me as well. All I remember is I woke up at about 11am the next day at the top of the stairs with my face buried in the carpet with no recollection of how I got there from the basement and where and when did all my guests leave that came over to watch the game. Oh yeah my jersey was ripped but none of my friends know how.

I went and played a pickup game of road hockey after we lost game 7, completely poopfaced I think I smashed every piece of equipment we had
Eventually everyone told me to go sit down on the bench and be quiet

Just spent the last 2 hrs changing all my passwords for everything. Some Douchè bag in the states has been logging in through my emails as well as other accounts. I don't know how the f@cktards do it but this is a first for me.

I remember talking to Canucks fans after game 3 against the Hawks and they were saying how if not for luongo it could easilu be 3-0 Hawks
- Redmile247

Our fans have short memories, and the media and recent Luongo crap that went on here the past 2 season he was here, block the success he did bring us out.

We were closer to elimination in round 1 than we were to winning a cup in round 4. Luongo was pretty damn good in that game 7.

Very good regular season goalie for sure, but his playoff stats as a whole were very average. Not exactly a small sample size either since he appeared in 64 for us.

That sounds like you were on the streets for the Riot but you remember things a little differently

Im hoping the Canucks can give some playoff experience to young GT's. Older vets with no/very little playoff exp seems to be a recipe for disaster when the pressure cooker starts to rumble...

Yeah, but when he first came here he was a better goalie, his mental state was just too fragile after the SCF. Mind you in the beginning he was getting 50 shots a game.

True that, I try and forget the series against Anaheim when he tried to call a penalty and got scored on to end the series. Mental error.

Chicago and Boston exposed his fragile mental state. Almost predictable how he would have a blow out game, after he let in one bad goal from the corner.

Buff almost single handily sent him to the mental ward.

Everyone likes to think that they are above the common rabble but I sure as poop would have been down to flip a car in that state of mind

I think Lou knows this as well. Hence the reason he wanted to go back to Florida. He can be a great regular season goalie but never have to worry about disappointing in the playoffs. Win win.

I wish I was in BC for the games. (frank)ing life. I may never get a chance to see Nucks in SCF again.

In the playoffs you want a goalie who is lights out. The whole 1 or 2 elite games then some average and a couple stinkers does not work. You need a goalie the gets hot and stays hot.

This is what I have been trying to get at (not very eloquently)
Thank you for summing it up like this

Agreed. And if you do have an average goalie, you better not be paying 5 or 6 million for him. Miller's numbers aren't really better.

No they aren't but if he gets to know the team and stye for a full season he does have the ability to be a lights out goalie. Will it happen I don't know. Im trying to be positive but for me Miller is still a hard sell. Not on that bandwagon yet.

Thats why I want him gone before we get back in the playoff picture. Need to groom Lack/Markstrom/Demko for playoff exp. Early exp will build mental fortitude for when the team is ready to be a threat in the playoffs again.

Of course you want a goalie that's lights out, and a 4 lines that can score and a mobile D that can shut down opposing teams. Teams win more often with average goal tending than they do with elite goal tending.

Only Thomas and Quick in 2012 had elite goal tending in recent history.

Quick (2014) Crawford, Niemi, Fleury, Osgood, Giguere not so much.
