Seriously. I'm ready to slit my wrists with the level of excitement around here. - bezz44
Or maybe it's time as a fan to except more from your team. |

Do you expect the Sedins to bounce back this year and reach close to 70 points? |

That's bullpoop. They don't owe us anything. If you don't like it, pick another team, and watch them suffer through lost revenue and salary. I suppose I'm a disappointment to my parents because I'm not the PM of Canada at age 22 |

Crazy thing about this situation is that, if a woman sees a hot guy with a girl by his side, she'll eye the girl up and down more than the guy to gauge her competition. - AlexF
That's so true! Happened to my wife and I a couple of weeks ago. We walked by a good looking girl and as she passed my wife turned to me and said she think's your cute. I asked how she knew and she responded "Because she gave me the stink eye"

Lets see how the season goes. A turnaround isn't going to happen in 1 offseason alone.

Okay I thought you were suggesting he needs to establish himself as a NHLer this year or he is a bust and that the 2011 draft was full of players making a difference for their team..... my mistake I can understand your point about him going closer to 35 than 29th overall. - belcherbd
Yes. A player doesn't have to score 50 goals to make a difference. If you got 50 NHL games under your belt as a 2011 draft pick then you're making a difference.
Having a rookie play quality minutes/regular shifts is a huge bonus for any team. The great teams are always supplementing their aging core with rookies and prospects. Our team does not (or at least hasn't for many years).
That's one of the many reasons why we got nothing hanging from our rafters. |

Larsson's played 128 games and is a career -4. That's a lot of minutes eaten up and not being a liability as a rookie defenceman. Murphy's got over 50 games as a rookie defenceman. Jurco 36 games. - bloatedmosquito
Look if those benchmarks work for you that's fine. 36 games in the NHL = making a difference. 19 games in the NHL= Bust.
I just prefer to look at it as most of those player drafted in 2011, with the exception of around 12 players, are still developing and we don't know what they will become yet. |

We were fans of this team way before FA imposed himself on all of us. He has built this team just like his condos and we wonder why it all fell apart last year. |

They are getting old. Got Daniel in my pool. Would be happy with 70 points from him considering I took him pretty late in my pool.
90 points is pretty rare in this league. Even 80. |

That's right - look at Chicago being able to trade key components away from their cup runs because of cap compliance. Re-stock with guys like Saad and Shaw who are really coming into their own right now.

Oh, I was talking combined. If Daniel's shooting percentage drops any lower, he'll be lucky to pot 10.
In all seriousness, it's tough to call. They looked decent in the pre-season so the issue is whether it was coaching related last season, or are they on a sharp decline. I'd say the 70 range for each. Maybe high 60's. |

Exactly, but by trading those pieces away they made spots for the younger players. |

? I've lost you.
They don't owe us anything? Maybe you don't pay to watch your team. I did for 16 years. I paid top dollar too. Other fans in other city paid bargain basement prices for the exact same product. The fans in this city have delivered their part. It's now time for the canucks to step up and do the same.
If the only reason this team lost was because they got beaten by better teams then I would be fine with our history. That's just part of sports. But it's not. A lot of the issues surrounding this team is because of poor management. That I won't accept anymore. |

Been very busy with work and was too stoned to respond to anything yesterday.
Pretty much just waiting for the puck to drop. |

I'm hoping a new coach will help. Had Daniel in my pool last season and was expecting 80+ points out of him. Not 47 or whatever he ended up with. |

Thats a fair point, I can't pretend that I have invested much into this team other than the occasional game. I feel like this team recently ( past 10 years) have been much more entertaining than the first 10 years I watched them. As long as they don't play as poorly as last year I'm happy. If they make the playoffs, I'm ecstatic and if they win the cup, I must be high as (frank). |
