Canucks are gonna surprise a lot of people this year with how good they are. I'm thinking they'll end up with somewhere between 90 - 98 points.
- hankthetank

Maybe, if the game they're playing is cribbage

absolutely! I wasn't . I just find it funny the reactions you get where you make eye contact with dudes that you bust eye balling your girl.
- PetrolSexual

The reactions are quite hilarious. It almost comical how some dudes try to look all nonchalant about it.

I was asked by my wife (fiancé then) if I saw a hot girl walking down the street while I was walking with her (my fiancé) would I check her out. This was a total setup question if there ever was one. I thought about it and decided to go with yes I would check her out if she is a knockout. She laughed and then said she can trust me, because if I had said no it would meant 1 of 2 things (either I am capable of lying to her face or I am on the DL) since no regular guy would not check out a knock out.

If the trend from last year's TDL continues, it's going to be really hard to get a 1st rounder. Too early to speculate anyway until we see where this teams sits in JAN/FEB, though most of us seem to think it'll be in that 8-10 range in the West.
- Nucker101

I think Benning pushes hard again to move up or acquire a second 1st rounder. I have a feeling this might be Burrows last season as a Canuck... a playoff team may very well be looking for a player like him in hopes he just needs a new home... he wouldnt be enough but a few guys will be on the block I suspect. But you are right, TDL is getting tougher to work with these days.

Doesn't have to be a hot girl either. My wife and I stayed in the same hotel as the Detroit Tigers last year during the Canada Day series in TO.

We were having a few drinks and chatting up a couple of the relievers when Justin Verlander started gawking at a decent, but not hot girl who walked by. My wife tuned to us and said, holly poop, that dude's sleeping with Kate Upton and he's going batpoop crazy over her? She was decent looking but right out of a bad 80's movie.

The one reliever I was talking to started laughing his ass off and ordered two more double dark and stormy's. He got completely bombed that night, then pitched two scoreless innings in relief the next day.

So it doesn't look like any young guys are going to make the team. Maybe Vey. #changeiscomingmyass. I don't think Vantel was being negative he was being realistic. Yes it is a bit early to speculate but I don't see that much change other than coaching and management. Benning can't make moves because of all the NTC's. If certain players have good years we could do alright maybe squeaking into a playoff spot and FA would have some extra bank. I am a positive person and want to see them compete but the in my mind the tough decisions haven't been made yet. Way too many questions for me. I`m not being negative just voicing what I see. I really though Shinkaruk was good enough to make the roster and created more offensive chances than anyone other than the Sedins.(I was actually a little pi$$ed a WD for his comments about sending him down) Jensen looked solid as well but not electrifying. Horavt was a king in faceoff circle, his play in the corners as well as defensive transition were good enough to make the line up. Corrado was best out of all our 6 and 7 defensive prospects as well as a 2.5 mil 6<7 (wtf). Fox can play big when put with high caliber players with his nose for the net. I could keep going on why at least 2 of these guys deserved it more than some vets but at the end of the day if JB is a seller the vets have to play not the kids. While hopeful I am not going to be to quick to jump on the Linden Benning Desjardin wagon just yet.

Horvat may still make the team. Shinkaruk is where he should be and if management didn't see Jensen in a top 6 position then he will be better off in Utica as well

Horvat can't be sent down just yet he is still listed as injured. And we don't know what is in store for him. I think he will get his 9 games at least

I never look at the player's age. I always compare prospects to their draft class. 2011 draft class produced some great players. Players that are making a difference today, not in 2 - 3 years from now.

And if anyone hadn't noticed this team kind of needs help now.

- bloatedmosquito

Players drafted in 2011 that are making a difference:
RNH (1st overall)
Lanseskog (2nd overall)
Couturier ( 8th overall)
Brodin (10th overall)
Zibanajad (6th overall)
Scheifele (7th overall)
Hamalton ( 9th overall)

notice any similarities? Jensen was picked 29th and you expect him to be ready like these guys?

Maybe you were referencing players like Jenner (37) or Saad (43) who were taken after him. I count 9 players out of 211 taken in that draft that are making a difference on their team. 9 players...... trust me Jensen is developing at a rate comparable to the players he was drafted at or who have played the same amount of pro games.

Edit missed Huberdeau, so 10 players

Andrew Shaw
Ondrej Palat
Matthew Nieto
Tomas Jurco
J.T. Miller
Sven Baertschi
Ryan Murphy
Adam Larsson

All I'm saying is the guy was a first round pick and may not have deserved to be. He's got a great shot but his highest goal total was 29 goals and that was in juniors.

Hell, even Sestito scored 42 goals once in juniors.

Edit: guys a bust. Cut the (frank)er loose.
