Not to worry. I apparently have been trapped in a time warp for 2 years and Nick Jensen is now 23 y/o and still not on the team

I said this a month or two ago. This needs to be the year that Jansen establishes himself as a legit NHLer.
- bloatedmosquito

I'll be happy if he ends up establishing himself as a legit top line AHLer. He is 21, and has only played 93 games at the professional level. Kesler who was a better prospect at that age needed 140 games before establishing himself as a NHLer at 21.Nyquist played 177 and was 24. Kadri had 143 games and was 22. If Jensen sticks this season great, he is ahead of the game and if he goes back he is on track.

Exactly, last year was his first year as a pro.

Jensen is 21...
Edit: Gus Nyquist had his first substantial NHL season last year and he is 25

- bezz44

You are correct. Canucks.com press release had him listed as 23 (http://canucks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=733188) but given that he was drafted in 2011 that obviously makes sense that he's not 23.

P.S. Not saying Jensen is a bust by any means but we really shouldn't compare the way the Canucks (or almost anyone else really) develop players vs the Red Wings.

Where's VANTEL this morning? After his work on the boards yesterday he should change his avatar to this:

Fair enough. Another comparison though if you don't want to use Detroit is Nick Bonino who had his breakout year last year.

Not sure I like the Bonino example but every team not named the Oilers has guys on their roster that was drafted in the first round and needed more than 93 games as a pro to establish themselves as NHLers.

I have a funny story about him. Yesterday I was walking down Robson Street, across the street from the Canucks store, with my spicy latina lady. So, we're walking and I spot Jensen from a distance, and he's totally eye (frank)ing my girl as we walk by. Should have seen him start staring at his boots after I absolutely bust him as we pass by. I couldn't help but

Appears Jensen like his women muy caliente. Good luck finding that in Utica.

I had a similar story a few years back with my lady and Kesler. Only in her case she got a photo with him with his wife looking on with that death stare of hers.

I've heard similar "soixante-neuf" stories about Burrows in Earls. These guys are horn dogs here for a good time not a long time.

Let him go back to London and play in the WJC. Why destroy his confidence. When Benning finally gets rid of the losing core he can come up and join the young guns.

absolutely! I wasn't . I just find it funny the reactions you get where you make eye contact with dudes that you bust eye balling your girl.

Canucks are gonna surprise a lot of people this year with how good they are. I'm thinking they'll end up with somewhere between 90 - 98 points.

Sure. If only they could play all their games against the Oilers and Flames.

I never look at the player's age. I always compare prospects to their draft class. 2011 draft class produced some great players. Players that are making a difference today, not in 2 - 3 years from now.

And if anyone hadn't noticed this team kind of needs help now.
