He ain't got time to die....
I figured posting him would draw a bit of fire!
I will say, there are two sides to every story, and anyone with an opinion on that circumstance should read this:

Thanks fellas!
I've been offline all day so sorry for the delayed response. Really crazy how life can humble you sometimes....but I've never been happier.
She needs a surgery on Monday...so, although I'm confident this little girl can already take on the world...say a prayer, wish some luck, do whatever little thing you can to help pull her through.

The lawsuit and circumstances aside, you'd think there'd be all sorts of people who would be able to verify if Jesse Friggin' Ventura got beat up at the bar they were at that night. Heck, if I owned the joint I'd be marketing that.
I'd have a sign with an arrow where it happened: "Here is where Jesse Ventura had time to bleed." |

Exactly. He's a pretty high profile dude to have that story being told for the first time YEARS afterwards. |

I don't wish his death. I wish he gets publicly punched square in his face and then fades into obscurity never to be heard from again. |

No doubt. We're debating Jesse Ventura. Maybe the puck will drop by the time we're done with the rest of the cast of Predator. What's Carl Weathers up to these days? |

I agree and that's why I didn't have Sid or Jagr on my list "Generational players" yet. Jagr could be there because he's near the end of career and if Jagr goes on then I think Mark Messier should be in as well.
That's why I kept it to players that changed the game. If Sid goes down and doesn't play more then a few more years we're looking at another Lindros. There so many great HOF players over the years. It's too hard to narrow it down to the title "Generational players"
It's been fun discussion
My list
Gretzky
Mario Lemieux
Bobby Orr
Gordie Howe
Patrick Roy
Rocket Richard
Bobby Hull
Doug Harvey - btbossman
I'm late to the party, but I have to put in my two cents on this because there's nothing else hockey wise being talked about.
I find this discussion to be pretty ridiculous because they're all based on opinion. It's like asking who's the top 5 guitarists of all time. How does that get answered? My top 5 may vary from 10 other people's top 5.
I'm not really sure how you don't have Sidney Crosby as a generational player. I think one of the criteria of being a generational player is being the "face of the league". The kid is just tops at all facets of the game.....head and shoulders better. To me Sidney Crosby is unequivocally the best player in the NHL and has been since he entered the league. The only leg you have to stand on is that he's young so there's plenty of hockey to play. But, in the event his career ends early you cannot say he's now an Eric Lindross. Crosby is so far superior to Lindross that its not even up for debate.
Quite frankly, the game is so different now that you can't really compare players of different generations. One could make an argument that the game now is better than it ever was....and Crosby is the best in the league when the league is at its best.
When they nicknamed Crosby "the next one" what do you think that was in reference to? Cause I'm gonna guess the next generational player.

Random but:
Say PK sours things with Mont, and we have the option to sign him as a UFA next season. What's the max you'd go?
Given our cap situation I'd be okay with 6x$8 but they may not even get it done |

I could debate that.. Lindros was a freak of nature, all that skill in that body.
As for "the next one" they had the same title for Lindros when he was 15 years old. When they were changing the rules for him because he was that much better then everyone else he faced.

Just my opinion but you offer this kid 9 shmill a year for 6 years......although after the Kane toews connys, I wouldn't spit my beer out if I heard PK got 10 shmill a year. |

We can argue all night, with a min to go down by a goal I'm going with Crosby over Lindross.
I don't recall Eric Lindros winning the Stanley Cup.....which is something generational players do. Bottom line Lindros was an exceptional hockey player and played a style not many could, but when he took the flyers to the cup finals he was non existent. "Generational players" carry teams on their backs. |
