If you really want out that bad you have more than 2 teams on the list. Is it The franchises fault you want out. You made your bed lie in it or be more flexible.

Kesler has always thought of one person only. it will be a cleansing to get rid of him.We should have traded him 2 years ago when we were all talking about it. Maybe now we can build a second line instead of a centre that never passes.

I hope so I think things will happen this weekend before the draft. As a GM you find a trade say you have an option it could be one of these teams give him 6 and if he says he will go as GM you pull the trigger. He limits your options it doesn't mean he has to know which team or the details of the 6 it is until he has accepted to go to. He limits you you limit him.

Can't wait for him to show up at camp and get a beat down, Kassian breaking his nose

Gillis couldn't build a 2nd line because Kesler wouldn't let him.

One thing that I'm hoping for after the dust of the Kesler trade, entry draft, and free agency settles is that Linden et. al completes the regime and team identity change by naming a new Captain. Bieksa would be my first choice.

Only choice if you ask me.

Doubt they'd castrate Hank like that tho...

Given the new regime and 'reset' I think we should also have a clean slate as concerns the leadership group. As a result, I think the C should be rotated - Hank, Bieksa, Kesler,

Edit - or a different course would be to have 3 'A's until there is a clear cut consensus in terms of who should represent the team on the ice

I know I know, I was basing everything in terms of status quo (namely, as concerns any possible player movement)

P.S if not Kesler then perhaps throw in D Sedin or even Burrows (ok, no hate mail - maybe he'd receive more credibility/respect if he had the C on the jersey). You could also add Edler or Hamhuis as possibilities, although I personally feel the other candidates mentioned are much better choices.

Maybe while they're at it they could change the jerseys again. It's really time to get away from the whale.

ICE CHIPS: Neil Sheehy, the agent for centre Jordan Schroeder, would not confirm a radio report that the Canucks will not make a qualifying offer to Schroeder. Teams have until Monday to qualify their restricted free agents and Sheehy said he would not comment until then. Schroeder was Vancouver’s first-round pick (22nd overall) in 2009.

The continuation of purging Mike Gillis garbage.

Could the lack of interest in a $660K qualifying offer have something to do with whether or not he qualifies for that offer being 2-way? (I'm not sure if he qualifies for that or not, but qualifying him on a 1-way contract would be a stupid mistake and that might be why there's no interest in taking that route)

Scary thought: Delorme and his crew wanted the Canucks to draft Kyle Beach, but Gillis overruled them. Imagine how much more (frank)ed we'd be.

I'd love to see Delorme's big board for this draft...

Why do I get the feeling this Kesler fiasco is going to go on and on and on like the Luongo saga culminating in his trade in two years to the Leafs for Colton Orr?

That is why Benning needs to play dirty too, assuming Kesler is handcuffing Canucks. Open up a list of more teams or waivers and you can Be Buffalos POS

#@$ sakes, the subjectivity (along with at least an element of personal bias) of scouts makes drafting decisions that much more difficult. As a result, if you don't have a great scouting group in today's NHL, you are pretty much hooped.

A couple of guys on twitter suggesting COL maybe trying to make a push for Kesler. None of the credible guys are reporting it but then again they have all gone suspiciously quiet.

After that beach comment by lefty I looked up that first round from the 08 draft. That draft wasn't so hot for a lot of teams. We lucked out by not taking beach like many wanted.
