LOL
Its a wacky scenario but if Gibson were ever to be traded I do believe it would be for a guy like Kesler and a 1st round (in this case the 6th) would definitely have to be included, so the 6th overall for the 10th makes more sense. - RobitailleFAN20
We have seen goalies not garner the desired return. |

Pretty much sums up my expectations now:
- Salient
Over/under on season ticket refunds if this happens? I'll say 3000 |

The going rate for a great young goalie, that's ready to take over as a number one is the ninth overall and nothing more. |

Gibson has looked good but has proved nothing so far. Lots of goalies that looked great at the start and fell into the "where are they now" category. Still a risk move for Van and Anaheim gets a commodity they absolutely need to compete with LAK. - we_are_all_canucks
I was saying Gibson because Im pretty sure he has more upside than Markstrom and Kesler is definitely not staying, so I was just seeing what might benefit both teams. Kesler being the Center Ducks need and Vancouver starting a re-build or re-tool with the back end first like LA did with Bernier.
As far as a commodity goes for Anaheim Im not worried because theyre goaltending is not unbeatable and the D isnt that strong and LA has the Centers to match Kesler |

Markstrom was the best goalie prospect in the league not that long ago. |

So you would take Markstrom over Gibson?
Personally I wouldnt but I can understand if you would.
But IF im starting a rebuild and have a Bo Horvat and/or Shinkurak coming up very soon if not this year, I would take Gibson and run with it. Start building a young skilled team.
If you think its not enough how about
Gibson, Vatenan/Etem, 10th
for
Kesler and 6th |

Just sayin', goalie values can change pretty quick. I think Markstrom might do better under Rollie Melanson coaching him though. This will be a pivotal year for him. Gibson may turn out great, looks like Anaheim thinks so. We will see.
Not giving up the 6th unless to move up in the draft. |

Understandable.
What does Vancouver want in return for Kesler? Is it the same type of return that LA gave up for Richards? I know Richards is different in NOT asking for a trade but they have similar traits the biggest being centers |

No to Miller - that would be a PR disaster bringing in another fickle high $$ tender. |

I think we should "mail it in" at the 2014 entry draft. Tell the nhl if any of the top 5 fall pick them, if not pick Virtanen. Then for these rest of the rounds just tell the nhl to pick the highest ranked player left according to central scouting as <5% of those players ever make the nhl anyway... |

If you really want out that bad you have more than 2 teams on the list. Is it The franchises fault you want out. You made your bed lie in it or be more flexible. |
