I think so as well. I do think Benning is playing with fire if Kesler is still a Canuck on July 1st.

One positive about Bolland would be that we maintain the douche factor that we lose with Kesler. One of the few good parts of being a Canuck fan is seeing guys like Burrows, Kesler, Bieksa, Burrows or Kassian get an entire opposing city/fanbase pissed off. We have maintain that if we're going for mediocrity/retool anyways.

I'm not so sure to be honest.

Can he really be more of a locker room cancer if not traded? If so, and his stats decline he's simply shooting himself in the foot in terms of trade destinations and potential contracts opportunities in the future.

Furthermore, he witnessed first hand the poop Lou had to go through over the last few years and i highly doubt he's willing to go down the same road. He will be flexible if he's serious about moving on.

Plus, theres plenty of time after the draft to move him (before hockey begins, injury risk!!!) as teams have a roster in place and may have missed out on the meager UFA class.

They got our sloppy seconds on Johnston.

In all seriousness, as a Pens fan I'd be thankful they hired Johnston over Wilson or Crawford.

Benning should tel Kesler expand list or stay put . End of story.

We can only speculate. At this point, usually the seller is asking too much and the buyers aren't offering enough. Hopefully they find common ground at the draft.

They actually got messy thirds on the coach and a fired GM as their new hires.

For all we know, Benning could already have a solid deal or two in place and he is just waiting to see if anyone is willing to up their offer.

Yeah, there has to be at least 2 legit offers to get a bidding war at least somewhat going. Ideally you have 3 teams with serious offers but that seems unlikely with Spezza also getting traded.

Your management/ownership team doesn't seem too solid from an outside's POV.
