i remember reading that article. I thought it was fascinating because it was such anti-establishment approach. I don't recall where it was either. Kevin Allen, maybe?

Exactly. I don't remember where or when I read it or who wrote it but Kevin Allen does sound right (though pretty much any interesting non-team-specific article on the league or the way it does business is written by Allen), but I don't really know and wouldn't bet either way. It was a really interesting article though but I haven't heard a word about using that type of analytics in hockey related decisions by any team since. So it's likely kept really under wraps since that article came out. NDA's for teams hiring the companies and such.
