I don't think he is the right guy for the Avs. He is only 190lbs, he is actually not that good, like at all. Also he is asking for waaaaay more than he is worth. - Meeqsb
He will be lucky to be playing in the NHL next year. 5 milly is a big joke. |

Is there any chance that Duchene has played himself into the healthy scratch on team Canada? I know from an Avs fan perspective we still see the kid dominating out there and still producing wins. BUT we all know the outside world seems to look at one thing...stats.
I'm hoping with all this talk about who sits and who plays over there, they don't go with an easy exit to sit the youngest. It's only Duchene and JT from that draft year and JT has no chance of sitting out.
Really hoping Matt doesn't have to sit and watch over there but I have a small feeling his name may come up on the Carter/Marty who plays and who doesn't talk. |

I think he starts at the 13th man, Most lineups show up right now as the healthy scratch |

Healthy scratch could be a perfect thing for Avalanche fans if he used it as a motivator, I have a feeling he would regress a bit in the confidence category though.
Any chance he gets a shot at wing on Crosby/Kunitz line?
Anyone think the Avs will make any moves before the trade freeze deadline today? |

Didn't notice Downie that much last night. The Center Ice feed wasn't great. Bill Clement is good, but the other guy was a complete homer. I now know that Steve Mason is the greatest goaltender to ever play the game. - JeffShantz
Downie did have an assist, but it was really Couturier that set up Raffl's goal nicely.
Clement is indeed good, and Jackson is spirited, but usually pretty decent. However, once in awhile you hear Steve Coates (Coatsey) pipe in, and he is a homer to the Nth degree. They moved him down between the benches like a slideline reporter. Even Philly fans can't stand him.
As for the praise of Mason, I mean the guy did have another spectacular night, and also has 3 shutouts in 5 games. He's runnin hot. If there was ever a time to praise him, it would be now. Not to mention Philly gets excited whenever they see good goatending. Hasn't happened all that often in the past 25 years.

But who knows they might think they have enough goal scorers so they want speed and playmaking |

Not a chance, with the Stammer injury he probably moves up the depth chart. Even though he hasn't been scoring goals he has been making strong plays with his speed, setting up other players well and dominating the face off circle. Granted he probably plays wing but he should start. |

Carter plays for the Kings and they have been averaging like a goal or less per game. I wouldn't worry about it too much. |

Yeah I rethought it aftrwards, he probably is on the 3rd line to start with, on the wing. Give them speed on the open ice. I still want to see him play with Toews and Sharp |

I think he would fit best with Crosby or Toews but we will see. |

Not sure how Crosby Kunitz Duchene line would go. Would Dutch move to RW or does Kunitz? |

I'd feel more comfortable with a big guy on each line, especially the line getting the most minutes. I think Duchene would look pretty damn good as the LW with Getzlaf and Perry. |
