They are not! The only players other GMs are interested in are Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Patches, PK and Price. It is obviously a non starter so NO TRADES. Drafting, player development and PATIENCE is all Hab fans can hope for. - Champ
PATIENCE so that the players can get tired of putting up with the Media frenzy of MTL and demand to be traded to other teams after they let in 9 goals in a game |

Yes the media is a frenzy! It's like being a Yankee. When things are good, there is no place better, when things are bad, you want to get out of dodge as fast as you can. |

Just as a side question, why do a lot of the Avs fans when a trade rumor comes up immediately think we're trading Parenteau? What am I missing? He's our best natural winger, and him and MacK are literally our only right hand shots. Plus before Duchene got hurt, that 90-9-15 line was completely unstoppable, easily one of the top 5 lines in the league.
He's signed to a very reasonable contract and appears to be somewhat underrated around the league, just doesn't seem like someone that you trade. |

What the hell is a Yankee? You mean like Baseball? Who cares about 9+ innings of unathleticism and boring? Baseball is like a POS cabin in the middle of the woods that the realtors try to sell as "rustic", its not any good but golly does it sure have some history. Lmao even Jonah Hill in money ball was more entertaining that the actual sport itself. The only reason its still around is because players can get paid tens to hundreds of million of dollars to hit a ball 2 to 3 times a game and dont have to worry about cardio. |

I think it comes to 2 things, redundancy and underperformance. With RoR and Duchene playing so well together and with Tangs in the line up there is no real "good fit" for PA anywhere in the line up. The 90-9-15 line doesn't work that great because all 3 guys play there best when they have the puck on their stick a majority of the time.
Also this season he is even on +/- on a team with like a +23 goal differential and he has been underperforming. As numbers go.
If the Avs decide to keep RoR as Duchene's winger long term (which I feel would be the right option) it just comes down to he is a very good player without any good fit on the team. Him and Duchene had amazing chemistry these past few years but as of now it looks like RoR has taken his spot.
Its not so much that we think we are trading him for any reason, but Roy is trying to mold this into a team that fits his image of a cup winning team and he is just more likely than other possible candidates. |

I don't think many Avs fans want to trade Parenteau it's other fans inquiring. |

That being said, if they can parlay Parenteau into a solid D.....they are better off!

Possibly, the avs are definitely a work in progress. However to date if you look at the Benoit signing and the trade rape that occurred with the Flames that brought us Tangs and Sarich for 2 players who should be bought out it is apparent that roy and Sakic know what they are doing. I couldn't be more ecstatic with how this year has gone and about the future of this team. |

He is one of my favorite players, I get to talk to the guy almost every other day and he couldn't be nicer. I am just pointing out that it makes a decent amount of sense. |

So how do you feel about
Col: Pa (3 more years) , Mcginn (RFA) - 5.75 mil
MTL: Eller, Bourque, Gorges/Tinordi - 9.5mil+ (assuming Eller gets raise)
Free's up center spot for Gal, then MTL can trade Plecs and has money for PK |

I think that is not a good deal for the Habs. |

I would rather get O'Reilly to replace Eller and Pleks eventually. |

Montreal's GM's and scouting director Trevor Timmins are terrible, How do you lose in the first round in Five ganes to a team like Ottawa, then Thing Briere and Murray are going to make you a better club?? Gotta have Less smurfs, not more.. |

I think that is not a good deal for the Habs. - golfingsince
Fair, although Cap relief is expensive right now, and the Habs have the highest cap hit out of any team. Gionta will fall off and save them 5 mil but they will still need to resign Markov and PK will be looking for 5-6mil raise and so will Eller. Not to mention Gal down the road in a year.
Trading away Bourque and Gorges to get their cap hits off the books would be huge and they would probably go for less than market value and MTL has too many centers as is.
With the cap raising they could be fine but I would say neither of those 2 players are worth what their cap hit is, or at least thats what I have been hearing from MTL fans.

Eller will get nowhere near 6 million. PK's raise will be maybe 5 million. The cap will rise with the new TV deal, and Markov will get about the same money. I think the Habs will be fine with the cap and if not they can move a guy like Bourque for relief. |

Tinordi is just a wish lol. I see eller more as a really good 3rd line C rather than a top 2 so that one is up to you.
Also RoR is way above either of them in terms of value imo.
Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion, thats just mine. |

Meant to say Eller will be looking for a raise in general. Not that amount. Last I heard PK was looking for 8mil a year.
Also why I listed Bourque was for relief. Same Gorges with Tinordi in the system. |

I think the issue is that they are both young players that the franchise would like to keep. Not a whole bunch of teams willing to deal away youth at the moment. |

Tellin' ya.. IF it has legs..
Staz/McGinn >>
<< Eller/Pleks.. Gorges, pick, prospect.
2 for 4, all makes sense.
RoR is bringing Subban if thats a deal somehow. You guys don't watch enough Avs games to know how valuable/good RoR is then.
