I think I'd look at Karlsson and Pietrangelo's contracts as a comparables. Obviously Subban brings an element to his game that neither Karlsson nor Pietro so doesn't (physicality) and has a more refined defensive game than Erik, but I don't think that justifies a 1.5 million raise over those two. Upon second thought, Doughty is probably the closest comparable and he only makes 7 million.


I'd say 7-7.25 for 8 or something close to that. The best Dmen in the league (Suter, Weber, Chara, etc) are still making in the 7s.

Mtl Fans are not thinking of a trade because we're quite happy how things are going , team chemistry is of utmost importance and both teams have better than strong chemistry so this is just a way for EK to get hits on his pages

EJ has very quietly been playing AMAZINGLY and is a great #1D. Makes no sense for him to be traded. Hejda is getting old and we will need a replacement for him and Gorges could be that guy

What is interesting about this is the idea that some Montreal prospects may actually be interesting to other teams.

They are not! The only players other GMs are interested in are Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Patches, PK and Price. It is obviously a non starter so NO TRADES. Drafting, player development and PATIENCE is all Hab fans can hope for.
