Albeit hopefully Horton pans out for them and puts Columbus into the playoff race.... I think they could turn out to be another successful small market, just need to hit the postseason.

The time missed by Horton will be just a blip on the radar in the big picture.

The Bluejackets battle level is high and MAF was a big reason we won. Hope Zatcoff and the team can come out strong. Malkin is looking more solid on both ends of the ice as well. Go Pens!

If Zatkoff gets the start and craps the bed, I wonder if the Pens think about claiming Joey MacDonald off waivers from CGY.

Interesting thought... The Pens have a few back to backs this month and a crowded December. If Zatkoff plays tonight and struggles, they might have to think about the back up position.

The big question mark is still Vokoun. If he's responding well to treatment and they think it will be more on the 3 month end, then you really don't have to do anything, and just ride it out with Zatkoff and hope for the best. If Vokoun's a little behind schedule or still having issues, then you need to start thinking about a solution for the season.

To your point, Zatkoff doesn't have the luxury of being pulled again as far as his long term viability with the Penguins.

Malkin is looking real sharp at some point it will pay off in the goal department, the team looked good , let's keep it steady as she goes and try to get 2 more points tonite ! Still a long season ahead let's stack up points when we can.

I think what's needed is a more conservative road game where you try to limit the Jackets chances and avoid open play.

Certainly a better first period tonight defensively. Pretty tight out there for both teams but we are getting better chances offensively.
