Crazy. I have been reading and they say most are idiopathic, i guess either way it is of little comfort, the damage is done and ya need a new ticker. And in the end it all worked out and you fulfilled your destiny as the referee in the post cloutier HB blogging era.

For those of you who say Yakupov needs better linemates - would we say the same thing about Hall or Nuge? Because that is the standard to which he must quickly ascend. I will cede that there's little chemistry on that line right now and that takes some getting used to.

The team is evidently playing better than last year in a lot of respects - they're not getting hemmed in their own zone too much, they have a fairly varied attack and they're much better in the dot. We shouldn't panic. But it'd have been nice to get a quicker start yesterday

Switch Nuge and Gags and maybe even JJ and Perron.

According to this standard happiness rule, the soonest we can get back on track would be by collecting 5 points in our next 3 games. @ Toronto, Washington and Pittsburgh? Tall order.

Why does Hall think he can pull a "Hemsky" and skate thru 3 players and score ??.

Edmonton or Colorado's lineup moving forward?

Too much math for first thing in the morning!

Did anyone else get really pissed off at Yakupov when Prust scored his goal last night? Yakupov did an Ovechkin move where he just glides towards the point and doesn't do any defensive playing at all. Effectively giving Montreal the man advantage in our end zone while it was even strength!!!!!

he looked like this out there!

Very close, but I'd take Edmonton's. Colorado has great forwards (at this moment better than Edmonton's by the looks of things), however I take Edmonton's D core over theirs.

And further:
1) In a year's time, it's extremely likely that one or both of O'Reilly and Stastny won't be there. By contrast, the Oilers losing Hemsky and Smyth is not nearly as drastic.

2) Edmonton and Colorado have each good but not great prospect pools, however I feel like more of what Edmonton needs is on the way. Colorado has Siemens coming, but I don't see them improving D drastically without a big move.

In terms of goaltending (roster + prospects), Colorado has us beat soundly. Essentially a toss-up, but I'd say Edmonton.

Why do you blame Petry? I mean, I guess he probably should've laid down his body rather than just the stick.
- MaximumBone

I blame Petry as well. He did have the lane covered so the shooter didn't have the option to pass and leaving the shooter for Duby, what you are suppose to do as a dman on a 2 on 1. Then at the last second he commits to the shooter, who Duby was committed to. Shooter passes, open net, scores.

I didn't see much of the game after that. Anyone know if he got much ice time for the rest of the game? I would've lost it if I was Eakins.

Yak does that all the time, guys are skating into the zone and instead of trying to make it hard on the puck holder he leaves the guy be and lets the defense deal with them.

He was benched the rest of the 2nd as per spector during the intermission. I'd have to take a look at NHL.com to see what he got in the third.

Oddly enough his third period was most time of the night at 5:17

I was in and out - they didn't play that badly...just not enough I guess and not lacked a little puck luck. MTL played a good road game.

People need to stop female doging about his ice time though - it will come and it's NOT the missing piece to more victories. This TEAM is still not ready for prime time.

I wanted to believe playoffs but this team seems to be on the slow build man.

So it goes.

Wonder what Mac-T will do in the coming 10 months...

I know TOI isn't an pure indication as to what transpires in the game, but if a guy isn't giving it a good go, then why give him the ice time i the first place, right?

It was the first time i actually noticed him doing it. I hope it changes soon.

Too early call but Sophomore Slump headlines could follow.

It's a phrase for a reason I guess.

Who knows, after a bunch of good starts with poopty teams in the last 4 years, jumping a bit here but perhaps we'll enjoy a super strong finish - playoffs or not.

I know TOI isn't the be all and end all, but if a guy sin't doing what needs to be done, then why does he deserve the ice time?

Montreal is usually a strong team and tends to play well on Western road trips. I went to bed when it was 2-0, and I thought Dubnyk was playing way better than what we had seen so far, but the final score was 4-1. I haven't seen any highlights yet, but what exactly happened?

Maybe there is a curse on Rexall place and we won't get out of the funk until we get into the new arena!

The biggest issue is that he knows he is playing poorly, he knows that if he (frank)s up he gets benched. Guy is playing stressed, hopefully he gets a goal and gets going. I also hope that Eakins or someone is working with him and letting him know why he is getting benched.

$hit man, could be!

Everything sucks right now...except for everything not connected to NHL hockey.
