If a goalie can step up to expectations and Nabby is less then stellar you guys could potentially be in a lot of trouble and I am sure you guys know this. I also don't think any of you need to come back with how bad NJ could potentially be because I already know and every thing the DEvils have done has already been went over a million times. |

I honestly think the isles just have to weather the storm in net for one more year. at the end of this season they should know what Poulin and nilsson are moving forward and some of these goalies will be free agents
Miller,Hiller,Halak,Elliott and obviously the potential crown jewel Lundqvist

To be honest, I think poulin is better than everyone thinks. He wasn't the same after that knee injury. I believe he comes into camp on fire and steals that number one spot! |

like I said in my article..despite his success he was the same before his injuries and that's what scares me the most...the weakness he had three years ago, he still has..however he has proven at least on an ahl level when playing behind a good defense he has been very successful |

Very athletic man, but his biggest issue besides his glove hand is in his head |

Didn't Nabby have trouble with his glove during the playoffs? It would kinda suck to have two goalies with that issue heading towards the playoffs. |

I'll bet you $1000 dollars you are correct. Quite a stretch, going out on limb like this. If it happens, people will look at you differently around here. |

Staples reports via Twitter JT took a puck to the mouth last week and lost 3 teeth...
Then goes on to say how last year he was bitten in Swiss league game but comes back to have a MVP type seasons.... Stanley Cup here we come!
And Staple says JT will be named captain next week |

We have an abundance of D prospects that won't all fit in the long run if they all pan out (Pokka, Pelech, Pedan, mayfield, Donovan, DeHaan)
If we include a 2nd or 3rd we could get a decent goalie |

Yea I can see this happening, we are coming to the point soon were we may have too many prospects and no place to put them. It would just suck to trade a few away and have them turn out better then the ones you kept. |

Personally I feel Poulin has great potential to have a breakout year if given consistent playing time. With any goaltender, frequent starts is the best tonic for consistency. It's even more important for a young goaltender trying to adjust to the NHL speed like Poulin. What we do know about Poulin is that he's an extremely athletic goaltender with decent size. Everything after that comes largely with game experience and coaching. The things that have gotten him into trouble over his sporatic starts has been rebound control, rebound positioning and early jitters. All of these things will likely be cured with more game action.
This is it for Kpull, his big audition. If the team gives him a fair amount of starts this year (say 30-40%), I think there's legitimate reason to believe we'll see his best performances as a goaltender thus far. If he fails to show imrovement during that stretch, the team will need to consider the follow-up option for next season. That would likely consist of Nilsson and a UFA.

No Lamponelli, no Whitney Cummings none of the regulars except for Ross. You can't expect the guy to carry it all on his own like that. I was shocked at how unfunny Silverman's bit was....
Of course, getting a young guy like Franco doesn't exactly provide a ton of ammo. What happened to having guys near the twilight of their career for this stuff. The roasts were supposed to be retrospectives back in the dyas of the Fryar club. Comedy Central is just looking for an excuse to have these things now...

I look forward to the roast every year, but this one was nothing short of awful. They couldn't get Schumer or Jeselnick? WTF. That dais was terrible. Samberg ,Silverman and even Seth Rogen as a host were terrible. Reminded me of the situations time on the roast. |

I hope you're right. I think the Isles need Poulin to play well to make the playoffs again. RDP has made me wary of athletic goaltenders. He relied on his athleticism and never learned solid fundamentals. I hope Poulin is more coachable.

Agreed, though I think two things that killed DP were his refusal to follow directions and bad coaching. Another issue I've always suspected with DP is he's simply unable to track pucks. Some guys, while posessing good eyesight by eye chart standards, don't track moving objects as well. I've always suspected that DP's seemingly turrets-like squinting may have indicated something more at play. Most of his big saves always seemed telegraphed to me while he often lost pucks from 25 feet out or further. I'll let Poulin have an actual full season with the team before judging if he's NHL material.

Dps rebound control was one of his biggest negatives imo. Poulin seems to have that same problem. Hopefully he has improved on that. He needs to play a "safe" game this season. |
