Grabo should thank Kulemin and MacArthur for his big contract...they did all they leg work ( mostly Kulemin ) and every bounce ended up on Grabo's stick and in the back of the net or a rebound and Kule or Mac would shovel it in.

The year those 3 had great years...the bounces seemed to be unbelievable... seemed every bounce ended up in the back of the net.

Grabo's a good player...just the last couple years he seemed to shoot when he should pass and pass when he should shoot...it wouldn't have hurt him if he could have had some chemistry with Kessel...it just didn't seem to fit!!! My 2 pennies

Grabo>Bozak but the Leafs kept the player that seemed to fill the 1c role best!!!!

Grabovski was as much a part of the success of those players that year, if not more. Neither of them have been the same point-wise since that line was broken up.

He's an excellent #2 center option for a lot of teams; a possession machine, solid two-way player, very fast, but likes to have the puck as much as Kessel does, so never was a good option for our #1.

We also just happened to have a younger, cheaper Kadri step up last year and take over the #2 hole.

Didn't you just post that his addition makes you a dangerous team?
- Cptmjl

An already good team adding a proven depth forward = dangerous team. The Blue Jackets made a splash in Horton but I dont think anyone has called them a dangerous team. One splash doesnt change a team. As an Islanders fan, you should know that well

yeah..maybe - Kule did all the forechecking and the bounces and turnovers all seem to go to Grabo or Mac...obviously him being in the right spot helped Kule/Mac get points...but I believe Kulemin did the majority of the dirty work to get them those chances...IMHO. I agree with the rest...he would be a good #2.

Or any sweepstakes for the last 7 years. But minor league low risk, high reward signings seems to be the way to win a cup these days.

Yeah, we are in some horrible shape. Historically FA signings seem to work out I'm really upset we didn't sign Grabovski, Clowe, or Clarkson. These signing are real good.

Never said you were in horrible shape. Once you get to Brooklyn, things will get better. But dont throw stones from a glass house.

Especially since he doesn't play for the Leafs anymore
- Cptmjl

No, he doesn't play for the Leafs anymore BECAUSE he's an average NHL player. And average NHL players don't get 5.5m in a salary cap system I'm afraid.

I agree Grabovski isnt a splash. That was not what I said at all. But an NHL player with a history would usually get a leg up over an 18 year old kid for an NHL job unless your name is Crosby.
- scatch38

Believe me...an 18 year old 1st round pick making the team would make a MUCH bigger splash than a retread 30 year old being signed.

You think? I don't know if you read his earlier post? Grabovski is the proverbial straw that's going to push them over the edge.

Why exactly does an Islanders fan have a problem with Grabovski or the Phoenix Coyotes?
