I could see that happening pheonix does know how to use the misfits in the league. Plus this way grabo can stay out of the media.

coming from a guy who has nascarguy as their username: im sure watching cars go around a circle 400 times your hockey 2 cents means about as much as my 2 cents about nascar to you.

I don't understand the hate for Grabovski. The guy is a warrior who had a bad year being underutilized in Toronto. As a Leafs fan I'd rather have him than Bozak.

The NHL roster and system in Phoenix is deep enough to trade an NHL player at this point. That would not only open up cap space, but you have to remember the 11 forwards listed. Klinkhammer and Yip may not even be on the NHL roster which save over a million dollars.

Do you think Domi will make the big club this year? If so, which line does he play on?

So Eklund's saying that some elf is going to throw Grabovski off of Santa's slay with a parachute (unwrapped, mind you) and down towards some kid's chimney? About on par.

It sounds like he will have a shot to make the team, but I doubt he will if Grabovski signs. From what I understand, Domi would only make the NHL roster if he would get significant minutes on the top 2 lines. He would have to blow the coaching staff away in training camp so the odds arent great.

Have watched Grabo for the last few years and here is my take.

The good:

Big heart-will give 100% most of the time
Fearless
Above average shot and offensive skills
Very fast skater

The bad:

Does not pass the puck nearly enough, very easy to defend
Gets knocked around because he is small
Bit of a loose cannon

He will help some team for sure, but will be very streaky

So if they sign Grabovski they are pretty much telling Domi he's not ready yet. Why not wait till training camp starts to get a bit of a look at Domi before committing to Grabovski? I realize there is a risk in waiting till training camp but what do they have to lose at this point?

I agree that it would make sense to wait, but my guess is the new ownership is pushing for a splash or Grabovski signs for a team friendly contract. I could see the contract being team friendly because of how the Coyotes work and the fact that Grabovski is already making money and just wants to go to the right fit.

Grabs isn't a splash. He's an average NHL player. About as average as they come.

I agree Grabovski isnt a splash. That was not what I said at all. But an NHL player with a history would usually get a leg up over an 18 year old kid for an NHL job unless your name is Crosby.

Grabo should thank Kulemin and MacArthur for his big contract...they did all they leg work ( mostly Kulemin ) and every bounce ended up on Grabo's stick and in the back of the net or a rebound and Kule or Mac would shovel it in.

The year those 3 had great years...the bounces seemed to be unbelievable... seemed every bounce ended up in the back of the net.

Grabo's a good player...just the last couple years he seemed to shoot when he should pass and pass when he should shoot...it wouldn't have hurt him if he could have had some chemistry with Kessel...it just didn't seem to fit!!! My 2 pennies

Grabo>Bozak but the Leafs kept the player that seemed to fill the 1c role best!!!!
