I really think Price is the best option for team Canada. A calming presence, needs to make all of the easy saves behind a stacked roster. Not an extremely hot and cold goalie like Luongo. - ejeezy
there's a common misconception that when Price's numbers go south, it's because he's playing behind a mediocre defence. now granted, the Habs defence is middle-of-the-road, but any Habs fan cal tell you that this guy lets in some clunkers the likes of which you wouldn't expect so see in third-tier junior hockey. his concentration wanders very often and when it does, he can't stop a soccer ball. could he pull it together for a short tournament like the Olympics? very possible. but i don't think Price has proven he can play elite hockey at the highest level. |

No he meant that as a chirp to the poster being a Leafs fan, commenting on Luongo blowing a lead. - ejeezy
The first goal he gave up was a deflection in front of the net, he got a piece of it..but not a lot you can do on deflection, the tie goal was bounced around and goes to 2 USA players in front behind the D.
Luongo sucks

You think Bernier is THAT good? I'm thinking it pushes Reimer to be better... I was more than happy with her performance last season... gave us a chance almost every night... |

an elite golaie keeps that puck out.. luongo is good.. but really he isnt anything special
most over-rated goaltender in a long long time - Dozzer
Luongo was phenomenal in his younger days. but his game has not aged well... maybe he just got overworked playing in Florida all those years. |

He's still top 5 or 6 in the NHL, so I'm sure most teams would take an overrated Luongo any day of the week.
Just because he is overpaid doesn't make him overrated. Not his fault Gillis isn't a good GM. |

I'm pretty sure he knows the difference.
It cost the Leafs nothing for a former second rounder with potential, they needed a goalie for the Solar Bears. |

reimer struggled on his glove at the start and his fivehole towards the end (weak stick) - his rebound control is pretty weak and needs to be worked on.
that being said, i hope reims can work on these things because that would make him a better goalie.
i think bernier has potential to be what we need for that next step in goaltending, tho reimer is the best we have had since the Eagle...lets hope they both are red hot and we have the tandum of 2013/14! |

How's the old Cuddle Huddle? Enjoying married life?
Gibson signing...meh, why not right? He was pretty good one season and once a month he is the best goalie in junior before he falls off the cliff again. I'm writing something on Benjamin Conz and why certain teams (the Leafs are one) should sign him next season after his contract in Switzerland is up. |

I don't get the idea of pushing a goalie like Reimer to be better. I think we saw Reimer at his best last year. Would be great to be wrong. |

no he most certainly isnt.
he hasnt been top ten in any notable goaltending stat in 3 years. and he was the starter for the presidents trophy winning team
over-rated. |

i feel one of reimer/bernier will be our #1 tender for a good 5-10 years.
and yes, hopefully the other fetches a decent return. |

I think the idea of possibly losing your starting gig with the Leafs offers some extra motivation... |

The midget from the WJC's, was 5'10, won goalie of the tournament, was a starter in Switzerland at 17 in the pro league. Just won goalie of the year over there, is only 21, and somebody must have given him growth hormones because his latest measurement is 6'1 |

Remember Stalberg growing from 5'10 to 6'3 or whatever it was? |
