5'9 Ennis plays bigger than 6'2 Stafford

Change of team will do Stafford really well!

Comparing to the Sabres, yes
I have no idea which team you are trying to compare them with!

- Sabresfan88

I wouldn't call the Senators one of the bigger stronger teams in the league, they are very similar to the Sabres IMO. Other than Neil, Cowan, Phillips and maybe one or two more they are pretty small and quick.

Alright! Let me explain myself further then!
They play a tougher brand of hockey!
They are tough on the puck, they will crush you on the corners!
I am not particularly talking about their size, rather it's their grit, and the will to battle for the puck.
Sabre are absolutely horrible when it comes to puck possession!
This season, specially in the beginning, the opposition teams were all over us.
This has to change quickly.

Talked to Gretzky earlier, she was telling me her dad is pissed this Hammond kid is probably going to shatter his records.

I will always respect people who put out actual offers and try to find solutions instead of just pointing out problems. So for that you have my kudos.

However trading away that much for that little will set you back into the stone ages. Way over payment also.

I am not sure if anything can get the Avs to trade the #1 overall pick, but if you dont want Jones then just make an offer for #2 and #3.

But A for effort

Sabers managed to get the talent, they just didn't build the team the right way. So honestly whoever's idea it was to recommend dudley is brilliant. I think that would be a perfect solution for you guys.

You have so many picks and the right pieces to make several hockey trades to "restructure" the look of your team. Honestly if you can do it right you might not even need to rebuild.

I will throw a name out there for you Sabers fans. Cory Schnieder.

I agree with pretty much all of this but after that pominville trade it looks like we're doing it the old fashion way.

Schneider is a name I've thought of for a while but it really comes down to what Vancouver is looking for. If they are still looking at a cup push next year It might have to be something like Vanek + Enroth for Schneider and someone else and I'm not sure that's the right move for us.

He's definitely a guy I'd like to have though. He's still young enough that even if we go into a full rebuild by the time we're competitive again he'll be in his prime (prime for goalies that is). The only question is what Vancouver would be looking for (if they are considering moving him).

i think 4 is totally achievable. But look at nashvilles situation, they traded away whats-his-name and need a scorer. they are on a tight budget. why would they pass up on Barkov who seems to be exactly their type of player even if they were offered vanek and a pick?
- robz228

Because tinkerbell taught me to believe

EDIT: And I'd really like to believe that Barkov is coming here.

Here is a pretty good link as far as trade compensation for draft picks for draft picks to move up. This guy has it pretty well thought out.

If that article is to be believed, the #8 and #16 picks can easily land the #3 pick.

I think every draft there are different "tiers" of players. I.e some years there are the top 3 players, top 11 and then the rest. While other years there could be The #1 (crosby) or top 2 (hall, seguin) ect.

So I think trading picks is easier if it is within a group and trading up a tier is MUCH more expensive than moving up in the same tier. Even the article claimed to have no data on the higher picks.

With the #3 pick you really have to look at the players you think would be available. Who do your scouts think will be around at #8 and #16. If you don't think a Nurse or Monnahan(or what ever his name is) or one of the players in that tier than maybe the picks simply aren't worth a Drouin.
