Haven't watched all of the game yet,but i will when I get home from work,hockeystreams.com rules!!! Thanks JJ!!
Q distributed ice time nicely...again...But is anyone worried that Kane might burn out before the playoffs?
Loved the benching Q gave Seabrook...From what I saw D2K was good..he is starting to play much better imo,and I think all of these people calling for him to be traded are nuts...
JJ? Any news on the trade front? This team badly needs a FO guy..And I mean badly...I didn't like the way Bowman said he would be happy with this group going forward...an addition or two is still needed...grit and Faceoffs...Do you think Bowman was just being coy? As to not show his cards? Or is it possible he and McDumbass believe this team is good enough as constructed to win the CUP? |

Was watching the avs feed (altitude) last night. They were very high on the hawks all night regarding their depth and skill. Only negative was one of them kept talking bout toews hitting varlomov in the head on Kane's goal, although the replay showed toews getting shoved as he came across the crease. |

No...it's a short season and he's an extremely efficient skater. Avoid an actual injury and Kane will be fine. |

I cringe every time Hossa gets hit even remotely hard. Just seems to be made of glass despite how strong he is with the puck. I'd hate to play without him AND Sharp in Anaheim although I know they will be without the suspended Corey Perry. |

I get the feeling he will play. It sounded at first that he might have come back in the game last night. Assuming they are being super cautious as usual. Once they were up three goals I'm guessing they decided he should just sit. |

It wasn't that easy. 'lanche get a few of those earlier shots on net and who knows. If it were 8-2 then it would have been "easy". |

And I would just like to add that Saad made a nice play on the pass to Toews for the 5th goal...I am by no means a Saad lover, if anything I am taking the wait and see approach with him just like JJ and many others here...But he did the right thing on that play, the pass wasn't anything spectacular, but him skating immediately to the front of the net opened up space for Toews shot which was brilliant...Most young hockey players and even some veterans would peel off,or even slow down, whereas he skated straight to the front of the net which caused havoc for the d-men |

I loved it too. Did y'all notice the club didn't miss a beat with Seabrook out? I've been tired of this guy sleepwalking (just like Bollus) through the season so far.
The nonchalant plays and attitude. In this league -- you do that and there are going to be lots of guys that will stuff that right up your a$$. Which is exactly what has happened a number of times to Seabrook. His skating has improved over the years but he's no speed demon by any stretch. Lackadaisical attitude and play like that will burn you almost every time unless your goalie bails you out.
And in spite of the thoughts about Duncan Keith being MUCH better, he's been better but he seems to have a real problem this year taking the wrong angle on lots of plays coming back into our zone. He tries cutting players off thinking they are going to skate along the wall and as soon as he does that, they jump the middle and are past him. Exactly, BTW what Oduya did last night. |

Watching Kane and Toews play together on the same line last night was amazing. The chemistry they have is unreal |

And he seemed to really get into that play too. He skated right into that contact. I sure hope it's not his noggin. He seemed to have his head hit the glass too. |

Better hope neither Bolland or Seabrook get hurt because you will find out very quickly how important both actually are to the team. The way the Hawks have played so far this season would refute your claims anyone is 'sleepwalking'. I haven't seen one passenger on the Hawks this year unlike last year when they had too many. |

Agreed. I don't know what team some folks are watching, game to game.
Seabrook had a bad play last night, but for the most part, has been excellent all season. If he's a sleep-walking, 80% of the rest of the league's d-men must be completely unconscious. |

Yeah, I was just gonna comment on this...they went from their fawning over theAvs in the last game to Toews & Kane manlove.
I love when the homer announcers when they are fair and praise the enemy...but just because your team is taking one on the chin, there is no reason to ignore your team.
Memory serves me how they gushed over Matt Duchene when his point totals in the game increased.
It juts seems announcers have more cred when they are fairly honest, say what your losing team neeeds to do, etc. but there are a whole lot to like on their front line...they just need to add a Leddy...opps Istarted something.
It is interesting to not that in the the last few games the enemy announcers told us firmly that Sergei Bobrovsky was the best goalie (save pct.) and Semyon Varlamov was the best one on one goalers etc. , and I thoroughly understand you want your home fans to look at these guys as solid future players...but to me it sounds as skewed as Emery & Crawford being the "best."
Why can't all goalies playing well just be that?
Why must it be they are the best? We have seen how from season to season how the leagues "top" goaltenders can be Elliott to Miller to Fasth.... |

I agree Paul, as hockey fans on the warpath, or simply disappointed in a losing streak, always seem to decide who is "playing bad" individually, when the team play most times breaks down as part of the "thing the bad home player did..."

Would not have been as angry when "the streak" ended had it not been for the Avs broadcast crew. Here are a couple of the (paraphrased) big hits from the previoius meeting:
"All Duchene is is a point producer" - Is that why he had 28 points in 58 games last year?
"The streak is over! Let's see how this ignites the Avalanche season!" - Uh, you're in last place in the conference. ... |

Duchene had a bad year last year. He got himself in shape over the summer, changed his diet, and came in recommitted this year, and it shows. 31 points in 27 games, and the guy can fly. Would take him on my team any day. |

I think they will go find a guy who is 50%+ on draws and can help kill penalties. Eastern Conference most likely. Will likely send a prospect or two the other way. Some time in the next 2 1/2 weeks.
