Bennett will not be moved, he's the only significant wing prospect in our system. Try again. |

I agree. I really think the Pitts angle is nothing more than some media types speculating to make noise. It just doesnt make sense. Gio or Jbo I could see. |

Don't pull a Toronto & finish in 9th every season Calgary.. Ask them how that works out. |

While I would accept the cpst of Bennet going to cal if it meant a deep run or a championship for the pens, it is to big of a gamble. I would have no problem with a draft pick or one of the plethora of d-prospects going out, or both, bennet is our future top 6 winger we need, no need to ship him out for a rental. |

I think if calgary did go full rebuild it wouldnt be as long as the oilers rebuild because calgary has Iggy and Kipper and a few more guys that can be traded to kick start it. And Iggy would probably resign in calgary anyways so trading him would be no cost. And cgy fans wanna give a description of backlund and baertschi? They doing any good? |

Zero chance the Pens move Bennett. He's a current top 6 winger by the way. |

He is by default.. he's playing ok no doubt, but I would certainly be more comfortable with a non-rookie in that spot going into the playoffs... |

So, I read the TSN article that quotes Rossi. The draft pick, roster player, and top prospect Cal supposedly wants for Iginla. So, despite how you feel about whether we should aquire iginla, I was curious about this proposition. How about if it was Kennedy, one of Harrington/doumalin/ or Maata, and a conditional pick. similer to the guerin trade. a 4th if we bow out in the first round, a 3rd if we go out in the second... until a first if we win the east. seems like a good way to balance it out...

I was curious about going the other way with it, pick that upgrades if he is resigned or traded. |

I hate to rain on fan excitement, But I couldnt help but notice...
Flames last 4 of 6 home wins have been against teams that played the night before, 2 of those opponents they defeated couldnt fly out the night before because of airport cancelation and forced to fly into Calgary just hours before puck drop getting distractions and little sleep night before.
Feb 24th Coyotes, played in Edmonton night before.
March 3rd Canucks, played intense rivalry game against Kings night before, turned away from airport, plain landed 2 hours night before after disrupted sleep.
March 6th Sharks, played intense rivalry game night before against Canucks, turned away from airport, plain landed hours before after disrupted sleep.
March 15th Predators, played rivalry game against Canucks the night before.
I know every team will get an opponent off a game the night before, but ive notice the Flames have been on a good streak of taking advantage of there "competitive advantage" in a relatively short period of time. So they've won 6 straight at home, ive just noticed they've been getting a little EXTRA help from the schedule maker lately and just plain luck, which coincides with there 6 game home winning streak.
Id like to see them win some games straight up, no "circumstances", and win more on the road. I don't know if the schedule will be as kind as it has been, so making up ground wont get easier. |

Sounds more to me like the parity in the league is so close it doesnt take a lot to in your view, give a team like the flames an edge to win the game. Interesting. Maybe we're not as bad as everyone thinks. |

I agree...don't forget they won against Detroit also because Gustavsson was in net and Kipper had a good night.

If you are going to acquire a player the caliber of Jerome Iginla, you're going to have to pay a hefty price and outbid the other teams who are in the running. Also, I don't think that Calgary has any interest in acquiring Tyler Kennedy (heard his name mentioned a few times) in an Iginla trade, as we have too many similar players. |
