It's been only three games, but the more I see this guy play, the more I believe he'll be another "Alfredsson" type player. Just watch how he plays without the puck, he takes his defensive responsibilities very seriously.

A very complete player, so far.

It's obvious you've never seen him play.

I've seen the 5 NHL games he's played so far, and he takes defensive responsibilities seriously and is usually the first forward back once the play turns around.

No Ive watched him extensively from SEL streams to over here and he really isn't very good away from the puck. His offence was supposed to be his top strength but that hasnt come either. Maybe he needs some time on the farm.

He's 5 games into his NHL career, after 34 games in the AHL, where He still leads the B Sens in pts despite not being there for their last 7 games.

He's currently a plus 3 at the NHL level, and as I said before, his defensive game is better than his offensive game at this time.

No he really needs to work on some things. Your fan love is blinding you and you're contributing to stunting his development with such an attitude. I expected better.

SILFVERBERG IMPRESSES SPEZZA

22-year old Swedish rookie Jakob Silfverberg is ready for prime time, according to The Ottawa Sun. Silfverberg is going to get his baptism by fire against Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets. With the Sens looking for a strong forward to play on the right side of Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek, Silfverberg has spent the whole camp there to try to build chemistry.

"Silfverberg's abilities to hang onto the puck, skate and see the ice are very good," said coach Paul MacLean. "He's a good player to play with Michalek and Jason.

"He's good without the puck and on the back check. The lockout helped Silfverberg more than anybody because he played over here in North America, in a smaller rink in Binghamton and that adjustment for European players can be tough."

Silfverberg has impressed Spezza.

"He's felt pretty comfortable all week," said Spezza. "He's a great hockey player. The biggest thing is just trying to make him feel comfortable right away and play with poise.

"He's going to be a great player, it's just a matter of how quickly he feels comfortable. It should be a good line and, hopefully, we can get off to a good start. He's quick and he's hard on pucks. He's got a good hockey IQ. The more we skate together, the more you can see he goes to the right spots."

He and many of the other rookies in the Sens lineup have "hit the wall" down the stretch drive, in this compressed gimmicky 48 game season.

I'll bet it an eyeopener for some of them, and will use the off season to better themselves for next season.
