Its a big deal being a whole continent away rather then a quick flight.. plus no one said he wasn't coming because of distance or what not.. did you ever think his kid cant travel with him to the states because of the illness?

Possibility of course. I'm going to need a doctors report as proof that his kid is sick, this seems to be a regular thing with these Russians

Not to change the subject but who will the Islanders pickup today off waivers? Wade Redden...
- kear20

Nobody is picking up Gomez & Redden on waivers. Just wait until they pass and become free agents and you could get them for about 6 million dollars cheaper then if you were to claim them

That is what will happen. Redden will be picked up, Gomez i have my doubts but the "Islander factor" does come into play

As bad as Ricky D's contract is, the one thing you can say is that 4.5 million for a goalie who was once an "all star" isnt that outrageous. But Gomez was signed outta NJ after having something like 12 goals the previous season for 8 shmill a year. CRAZYYYYYY Redden makes more than Tavares........again CRAZZYYYY

And conveniently, it all means he doesn't have to come over and play for the team he's been crying about for six months now! Like I said, if he's on the level with the latest of several excuses he's had now for not coming, then I take it back. But I don't believe him, and don't think he's earned the benefit of the doubt.

I didn't want to spend a dime on this team this year but the wife wanted to take our 4 yr old son to Monday's game vs the lightning. Went to ticketliquadators.com and got 3 tix front row sec 204 for 63 bucks each. Total with charges and shipping was 263. I feel dirty for giving them money

Debatable since every team needed at least one player at the game

Not to be that guy, but why is Visnovsky now saying his son is sick (albeit not serious) and he wants to be there for his recovery. I dont understand why that wasnt expressed to the management from the start. That should have been headline number one.....

But those players are one of many on a roster. Redden is one of six or seven D-men whose time you can limit. Gomez is one of 12 forwards whose time you can really limit if you choose to keep him on the roster. DP is one of only two goalies, and once he's in a game, there's no hiding...he faces every shot and is in there the whole game unless you pull him out. Goalies with bad contracts are a bigger problem than other positions, imo. I think Philly and Vancouver are realizing that as well, and their goalies can still actually play.

How do you know it wasn't? I remember hearing about personal issues a while back. Either way as a father with a kid I would never question another man's remarks about the health of his kid regardless of how you feel about him. That shat's taboo

Its VERY odd that its now coming out that its his sons recovery. Seems to me, thats the first thing you tell your employer. All he said from the quotes were that he's staying in the KHL. Nowhere did he mention his son was sick. Hate to say it, cause its wrong, but i dont believe him either. The order of events are just too strange....

I meant more because of the lockout I was going to boycott spending money this year plus why give wang my money when he isn't serious about winning?

Maybe he didn't want his personal problems out their in the media? Nothing wrong with a dad trying to protect his kid and his own personal issues. Is he telling the truth? Who knows but jumping to conclusions without knowing all the details doesn't make sense. It is what it is. Plus I can't see somebody making a bogus excuse and that excuse being the health of your kid. Karma my friend

But, he said he was going to stay. Not stay for a while, or a couple of weeks, he said he was staying in Russia, to play in the K.

11 service charge for each ticket plus I paid an extra 25 for express delivery. The Isles site had those tix for over a 100 each without the added chargers
