Suddenly People are Doubting The Mighty And Playoff Ready Avalanche |

The 2021-22 season has been one for the ages if you are a Colorado Avalanche fan. The team and its star-studded lineup continue to break records on what seems like a daily basis, yet the seems to be some kind of misguided doubt in this team entering the playoffs.
Colorado's lost a couple of games in a row but they are 8-2 in the last 10 games. They were the first NHL team to 80, 90, 100, 110 points and they've already locked up the top spot in the Western Conference. They may not be coasting to the finish line but if they are... so what?
Cale Makar has arrived as the greatest hockey player not named Connor McDavid. He too is shattering franchise records and continues to do amazing acts on a nightly basis.
Devon Toews has proven to be as valuable as any player on any roster. The 'Avs have a .820 win percentage and 50 wins with him in the lineup are just 5-6-1 when he's out.
Nathan Mackinnon, Gabe Landeskog, and Mikko Rantanen are worth the price of admission, and the new guys brought in at the deadline aren't bad either.
The supposed Achilles heel of this team what the goaltending and that argument died months ago.
So why then is this team being called bland and uninteresting? Why is it that the Florida Panthers are the darlings of the NHL and the new number one in all the power rankings? Why are the Calgary Flames the darlings of the Western Conference?
It would seem to be the easiest way to get clicks is to disparage what has arguably been the best and most consistent team this season.
Don't get me wrong, the Western Conference playoff matchups are all going to be monsters and there will not be an easy path to the Final. But, please don't try and convince casual hockey fans that the 'Avs are nothing more than a flash in the regular season pan.
This team is special and the fans deserve to be proud of this group and all they've accomplished already. Not to mention that this club is anything but bland or uninteresting. How about sitting down for five minutes and watching a ****ing game?
Five games left. Enjoy them and enjoy the ride this spring. It's going to be a long one.
