Fire him before he ruins the next few years

While everybody is refreshing Twitter to see what is happening around the league I have acquired exclusive footage of Ron Hextall and the Penguins future draft picks

Ron Hextall is incompetent, and he should be fired immediately. The Penguins needed to be aggressive buyers given their timeline and they just watched everybody else buy. All the pieces that made sense for the Penguins have been sold to other teams. In almost all cases for reasonable returns the Penguins should have been willing to match or better.

This all started in the summer. I heavily criticized the depth moves back then because I knew an inactive GM wasn’t going to have the acumen to trade himself out of the issues he created. The depth choices on this roster were unacceptably bad and ate up all the cap space and flexibility the team could have had. This was negligence, incompetence, and unforgiveable. He was never the man for the job. This team doesn’t have trade deadlines to waste. Hextall was who we thought he was and here we are.

What’s left? A panic trade for JT Miller? No thanks. Fire this guy today so we don’t have to deal with roster moves years down the road. Do not let one of the worst GM’s in Penguins history make significant moves. Enough is enough.

And while I’m writing this the team has traded Teddy Blueger for a 3rd round pick.

The clearing of cap space should have started weeks or months ago. This reeks of a panic move on the way. He’s like a student who pushed their pass or fail project off until the last minutes and didn’t have the smarts or wherewithal to get a passing grade.

Flyers fans might be saying I told you so, but I’m pretty sure everybody accepted at the time what this path was going to look like. Penguins fans were worried about this from the start and they were correct to be worried.

The Penguins couldn’t afford to stand pat at the trade deadline. They either needed to buy (preferably), sell, or a hybrid of both. Unfortunately, with who they have running things the best course of action would be to do nothing. A real great place to be in the closing years of a great era. Get this guy out of here before he makes the next two years impossible to fix. What a joke
