FLA vs TOR: Playoff Hopes Clinging to Life

Not a whole lot to say in this one…

The Panthers continue to play chicken with their postseason lives and are only in it because the Penguins also continue to falter.

With eight points on the line in this current road trip, this is the most important four games (out of the eight left) for Florida. After they squandered two points in Ottawa, the confidence of Panthers fans (and probably the players) is not very high — especially heading into Toronto to play a loaded Leafs team tonight.

To make things worse, Sam Bennett is still out due to injury.

I’m not sure what you do at this point? Playing scared isn’t the way to go, so that leaves one option: play loose and let the chips fall where they might. Tightening up the defense would make a tremendous difference, and I’m not even saying there needs to be a complete overhaul before tonight. Just doing the basics, as well as staying out of the box, would benefit these guys greatly.

With as up-and-down as these guys have been all season, I could see them getting crushed, just as easily as see them beat the Leafs tonight.

It all depends on which team shows up…
