Tonight has the potential to be a great evening for Panthers hockey fans.
Not only can the Cats extend their win streak to nine games, but it’s also the kickoff night for their 30th year celebration. That’s right, tonight is 90’s Night and I’m hoping to see a lot of original leaping Panthers, as well as some awesome old highlights!

Royalty in Town
The friends over at
Litter Box Cats have a quick little recap of hockey’s royal family’s struggles of late:
“
The struggling Kings hit Broward County in the midst of six-game (0-3-3) losing streak. On Tuesday, visiting Los Angeles held a two-goal lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning after forty minutes, but couldn’t hold it and lost the game when Nick Perbix scored 2:03 into overtime. A win tonight would end both the Kings’ run of misery and Florida’s eight-game winning streak. Los Angeles won the first meeting by a 2-1 count in mid-November.”
Florida will no doubt carry over their 5-1 victory mojo from Tuesday night. But I’m a little nervous about this game. It’s just the type of tilt the Panthers would lose. They’re flying high and the opponent is desperate for a win. Panthers cannot let these guys get any kind of momentum. They’re down mentally, gotta keep them there.
Here’s what the Panthers can expect to face:
Quinton Byfield -- Anze Kopitar -- Adrian Kempe
Kevin Fiala -- Phillip Danault -- Trevor Moore
Alex Laferriere -- Pierre-Luc Dubois -- Arthur Kaliyev
Carl Grundstrom -- Blake Lizotte -- Trevor Lewis
Mikey Anderson -- Drew Doughty
Vladislav Gavrikov -- Matt Roy
Andreas Englund -- Jordan Spence
Cam Talbot
David Rittich
Cousins is still out with concussion symptoms.
Look for Tkachuk to stay hot, coming off his hat-trick in STL (that Rats totally called).
