The Rangers completed their development cap with a scrimmage today. Shortly after the game ended, New York signed their first selection, Adam Sykora, taken 63rd overall last week, to an entry-level contract. Of course, the game or camp wasn't televised, which would make way too much sense and gives us jonesing for hockey something to watch. Even better, open the facility for attendance as a way to build interest and knowledge base amongst the fans for the kids.

Vince Mercogliano and Mollie Walker covered the camp. Vince, especially, did a nice job recapping the day's activities and the scrimmage today. As Mercogliano noted, in no real surprise, forwards Will Cuylle and Brennan Othmann and defenseman Matthew Robertson all performed well. As each came to the camp with more experience than others, especially Robertson, who will get a chance along with Nils Lundkvist and Zac Jones to break camp as the left-side pair to Braden Schneider, impressed. Per Mercogliano, Robertson always looked calm under duress, while moving with fluidity for a 6-foot-4, 201-pounder and transitioning the puck effectively out of the D zone.

Othmann and Cuylle each scored with Cuylle the more physical of the two and Othmann the more skilled and quicker. Bobby Trivigno was reportedly the MVP of the camp, showing offensive skill with the ability to protect the puck and create chances despite his 5-8, 161-pound frame. Up front, Brett Berard also stood out, while Hunter Skinner was solid on the blue liner and Dylan Garad was the best of the goalies.

Sykora signed:

Syroka was impressive enough in camp to warrant the ELC. He also scored in the scrimmage Friday. Below is some information as to where Sykora might play this season and his signing of the ELC now will allow him to play in Hartford in 2023-24, if he fails to make the parent club.

I will write a lot more about this but throwing this question out to the readers. If you had a choice right now, who would you trade for: J.T. Miller or Patrick Kane. In addition, presuming neither have moved and both are available with the respective salary able to be fit under the cap, which one would you add at the deadline?
