NHL Camps are opening up, but there are still a free key RFA’s without a contract and not present…….probably the most intriguing would be Jason Robertson of the Dallas Stars… The Stars leading goal scorer, 41 last year, is in talks with Dallas about a contract, but the Stars only have around 8M in Cap space…This makes Robertson extremely attractive to other teams right now and my sources are saying that at least two teams have considered putting an offer sheet together…

The feeling is Dallas would absolutely match, however such a play by another team would put Dallas into a very precarious position FOR SURE.

Or would Dallas take the compensation and let Robertson go?

Still working on which teams could make this play…While I don’t have any exact names, there is speculation that the Buffalo Sabres could be one of those teams.

If Buffalo were to signs Robertson the Stars would get at least three draft picks…and one could potentially turn into Connor Bedard…Would the Stare perhaps let him walk then?
