The All-Star weekend has come and gone, and the NHL trade deadline has suddenly exploded with early BIG moves as Lindholm and Monahan will show in their debuts with their new teams tomorrow.....

I spent the weekend working the phones and piecing together the dominoes after the two big trades have really shook the hockeyverse...Tonight I will be putting all those notes into decipherable thoughts, as I will be launching the Rumor Chart for this deadline next

On Boone Jenner...

Every deadline there is a player, who may not be a star, but has the kind of impact that can raise hardware at the end. The "Butch Goring Affect." This year's Goring may very well be Columbus Blue Jacket forward Boone Jenner...Jenner brings skill, but along with the skill he brings flexibility and the kind of heart/leadership that usually can't be bought at the deadline. Teams with interest include: Boston, New Jersey, Florida, Edmonton and Philly...

On Tarasenko...

He may be a step slower, but its hard to forget to his recent playoff run with the Blues as well as his big game appetite... Tarasenko at half price could land a second and more...he has his share of fans among the NHL Gms. Teams who should get in on this include Florida, Toronto, NY Islanders, NJ, and Minnesota.

On Tanev....
Tanev is the next big prize, and there are plenty of teams with short term/long term interest in this d-man. The Leafs, Penguins, and even the Canucks are keeping all options open and would love to add some on the back end. Tanev does what he does as well as they come...

more to come.
