BUSY day on the phones today. Already getting flooded with calls and you can tell September is only a week away. Desperate times. I am working on a complete RFA update for this afternoon, but we need to start with a pair of trade rumors.
Breaking News...
A team in Norway has claimed that Mikko Rantanen will be starting the season with them. Stay tuned on that one.
Oilers and Rangers...
I was told by no less than three sources, that the Oilers and Ken Holland are targeting Chris Kreider from the Rangers. The deal would include a prospect, and solid pick and restricted free agent Jesse Puljujärvi. The Oilers also like Rangers defenseman and restricted free agent Anthony DeAngelo, but I am told that is a non-starter.
The Rangers have been "inundated with requests regarding Kreider."
Hawks looking to add...
The Hawks have also had some discussions about Puljujärvi, but I am told they really would like to grab Hoffman from the Panthers. Talks have "entered a second stage of sorts leading some to believe the chances of Hoffman landing in Chicago are better than 50%."
