Could one the Sharks top 3 D be heading to Toronto? (e3) Fri's Buzz

Most had San Jose finishing in the top 3 this season, and even those who weren't sold on the Sharks...yours truly had the Sharks finishing 6th in the Pacific and Edmonton finishing #1..but who is counting?....no one would have seen them at 25th in GF and 25th in GA...

Something has to give...there is too much pressure on this team, and too much money spent, for Wilson to just sit and watch this team be a minus 16 in goal differential 13 games in...that is tied for second to last with Detroit and only 4 goals better than the LA Kings...

Something has to give... and they only have 300k to play with on the salary cap. Next year they already have 64M committed, but they do have almost all of their key players already signed up..Their only key player who will be a UFA would be Brenden Dillon...But the defense already has 26 Million divided between the big three.. That would be the 25th best defense in the NHL. In fact the Sharks are paying 32M for their top 6 D and 36M for their top 12 forwards...

They are looking for help, and not looking for help in goal...somewhat surprisingly...I am hearing they have talked to the Leafs about forwards and would be willing to part with a top 3 defender...That would be Karlsson, Burns, or Vlassic...

The Leafs have some big cap/roster issues as well...Nylander and Kapanen could go the other way though and if San Jose would eat some money....maybe this could benefit both sides...

more to come...
