A couple quick hit rumors as the Preseason is winding down...

On Jordan Staal...

The Edmonton Oilers are not done tinkering. I've said it before and I will say it again. They are still looking to make a bold move and not on defense or for defense. They are looking at a swap of sorts for the kind of player they want. The Hurricanes want to keep both Staals in Carolina, but that is looking more and more unlikely unless Eric decides to take far less.

Jordan Staal has come up. (e3)

On the Sens and the Schenns

The Flyers don't want to move Brayden Schenn but they would listen to offers for Luke since they are prospect heavy on D and Luke is a pending UFA. The Senators are VERY actively looking to add a top six forward and could make a play for both Schenns I am told (e4). That being said the Flyers have liked Brayden on a line with Giroux and Voracek with Raffl sidelined for another week or so. Brayden is actually a great fit with those two and he has looked very sharp in Preseason.

On the Habs and Sharks...

I keep hearing the Sharks with interest in Eller. The Sharks are offering up a forward prospect along with an "NHL Ready" 5/6 D. I have also heard that they would be interested on Plekanec should the Habs look to move him, and for that a Top-4 defenseman could become available. (e3) The Sharks have also talked to the Flyers about Luke Schenn I was told (e2).

On the Kings...

The Kings are looking hard to add a quality Defenseman as well as some depth up front. Sutter loves the Staals and I have heard a few scenarios involving Eric and Jordan tied to LA, but I get the impression we are talking a "plan b" if sorts if Kopitar proves "unsignable."

We will discuss all this as well as completing our fan expectation week on the Buzzcast today at 1pm ET.

It's the best fantasy game every created. Of course, we're a little biased. The HBSL is a hybrid between a salary cap game and a head-to-head fantasy game. Each week you create your 20 man roster based on the $71.4M NHL salary cap and the actual salary cap hits. You then face-off with a fellow hockey fan. At the end of the regular season, we throw the best 128 teams into a 7-week playoff.

There is a Season Ticket Holder bracket and a Free bracket.
