1) 2024 Memorial Cup: The Ontario Hockey League champion London Knights (2-0-0) held off the Western Hockey League champion Moose Jaw Warriors (0-2-0) by a 5-4 score on Monday evening to remain unbeaten in the preliminary round of the Memorial Cup tournament in Saginaw, Michigan.
The Warriors scored the game's first goal before London made a push to collect mid-period and-late period goals to take a 2-1 edge to the first intermission. Moose Jaw tied the game at 2-2 in the second period, but London rallied for the next three goals. Late in the second period, Moose Jaw's Ethan Semeniuk notched his second goal of the game to cut the deficit to 5-3. With 3:55 remaining in regulation, Moose Jaw drew within one goal. However, they were unable to find an equalizer.
Flyers wing prospect Denver Barkey collected two assists on Monday for his first two points of the tournament. Flyers defense prospect Oliver Bonk, who took First Star honors in London's tournament-opening win against the QMJHL champion Drummondville Voltigeurs, had one assist against Moose Jaw. Bonk and Barkey collected the apples on a Sam Dickinson goal that made it a 2-1 game late in the first period. Later, Kasper Haltunnen tallied a power play goal set up by Barkey and Easton Cowan for London's fifth and final marker.
On Tuesday, Drummondville (0-2-0) will play Moose Jaw. Flyers wing prospect Alexis Gendron will look for his first point of the tournament for Drummondville.

3) Today in Flyers History: May 28
1980: Flyers 1979 Draft picks Pelle Lindbergh and Thomas Eriksson travel to Philadelphia to sign their first NHL contracts. On Feb 15, 1981, Eriksson becomes the first European born and trained player to appear in a game for the Flyers. Lindbergh makes his NHL debut on Nov. 1, 1981.
1985: The Edmonton Oilers skate to a 5-3 home win over the Flyers to take a three games to one lead in the Stanley Cup Final. To make matters worse, Vezina Trophy winning goaltender Pelle Lindbergh suffers a quadriceps tear and has to leave the game. Bob Froese finishes the game. The Oilers power play strikes for four times on six man advantage opportunities. The Flyers hold 1-0 and 3-1 leads but can't hold off Edmonton's juggernaut offense.
1987: Today is the 34th anniversary of Game 6 of the 1987 Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers, capped off by Brian Propp's tying goal and J.J. Daigneault's famous mid-third period game winner.
2003: The Flyers trade goaltender Roman Cechmanek, a two-time Bobby Clarke Trophy winner as team MVP, to the Los Angeles Kings for a 2024 second-round pick (later flipped to the Chicago Blackhawks in the Alexei Zhamnov trade).
