The news comes as a result of COVID concerns. Right now, three Golden Knights coaches, along with defenseman Alex Pietrangelo, were placed on the league’s COVID protocol list. The Golden Knights already had a game on Thursday against the St. Louis Blues postponed, though these are the first Sharks’ games to be postponed, as a result of COVID protocols.
The Sharks are coming off a 3-0 loss against the Colorado Avalanche, where they were outplayed and outshot by a margin of 38-21. San Jose will now have a bit of a break, with their next game set for Friday, February 5.
