The San Jose Sharks acquired defenseman Chrsitian Jaros from the Ottawa Senators yesterday, in exchange for forward Jack Kopacka and a seventh-round pick in 2022.

The Sharks had acquired Kopacka earlier in the day from the Anaheim Ducks, in exchange for defenseman Trevor Carrick.

Jaros is a 24-year-old right-handed defenseman. He’s played 76 career NHL games, all with the Ottawa Senators. Last season, he played 13 NHL games, registering three points and also scored 15 points in 34 AHL games with the Belleville Senators.

Jaros can provide a bit of defensive depth for the Sharks but it remains to be seen as to what San Jose’s plan is with the defenseman.
