Carolina Hurricanes prospects Noel Gunler and Zion Nybeck have been named to Sweden’s preliminary roster for the 2021 World Junior Championship.

Gunler was selected 41st overall by the Hurricanes in this year’s NHL draft. The winger has three goals and five points in 16 SHL games.

Nybeck was selected by the Hurricanes in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Draft. He has two points in 16 games in the SHL.

Neither player was a member of last year’s World Junior team and this will be Gunler’s final year of eligibility. Nybeck, on the other hand, will still be able to compete for a spot in the 2022 World Juniors as well.
