The Anaheim Ducks signed prospect Jacob Perreault to a three-year entry-level contract yesterday.

Perreault was one of Anaheim's 2020 first-round picks and was selected 27th overall. He spent last season with the OHL’s Sarnia Sting, where he scored an impressive 39 goals and 70 points in 57 games. He’s expected to return to Sarnia when the OHL season begins.

It’s great to see Perreault sign, however, it’s likely that we see this contract slide for a couple years. He still has two years of OHL eligibility remaining and unless he has a monster season in 2020-21, he’ll likely return to junior for the season after that as well.
