Nikita Scherbak is heading home to Russia and will play for Avangard Omsk team that is coached by Bob Hartley.
After LA Kings revealed that they will not tender a qualifying offer for Scherbak it took no time for him to ink a deal in Russia.
It had been rumored since the end of April/early May that the 23-year-old would be returning to his native Russia to play in the KHL.
This morning the Omsk squad announced a 3-year deal with Scherbak.
KHL source told HockeyBuzz that Scherbak has no clauses in his KHL deal meaning that if an opportunity presented itself for a potential return to the NHL - he would either apply for a buy-out and cover it himself or spend the next three years in Russia.
