Slava Voynov is a name that just keeps on popping up each and every year and this one will be no different.

A source has suggested to Hockeybuzz that Slava Voynov has informed KHL teams which had expressed interest in the 30-year-old defenseman that he wouldn't be signing anything until at least July 1st when the NHL free agency should begin.

Obviously we don't know if July 1st will still be the date.

The intention seems clear - Slava Voynov will attempt to return to the National Hockey League. However, I find it highly unlikely that any NHL would actually offer him a contract but there's always a chance of that happening.

He has spent the past five years in Russia, four of them playing hockey. Voynov did not play hockey during the 2018/2019 season.
