Western Conference Predictions

Let's get right to it. Here are my Western Conference predictions:

Chicago (1) vs. Minnesota (8)
The Blackhawks are going to be tough to beat and I think they will make a deep run into the postseason. With that being said, I don't see Minnesota with the upset. The Blackhawks went 2-0-1 against the Wild during the regular season and shouldn't have much of a problem. The Wild are one of two teams I am rooting for in the West, but I don't think they'll get past Chicago. Prediction: Blackhawks in 5

Anaheim (2) vs. Detroit (7)
22 straight years in the playoffs is disgusting. The Red Wings are always a threat in the postseason, regardless of where they are seeded. They have so much experience, and as much as I like Anaheim, the Red Wings are capable of pulling of the upset. However, I think the Ducks were overshadowed by Chicago and many don't realize just how good they are. Prediction: Ducks in 7

Vancouver (3) vs. San Jose (6)
The Sharks took all three meetings during the regular season, and I hope they can keep that going in the first round. San Jose always seems to choke and not go as far as expected. Perhaps being an underdog as the #6 seed will help. The Sharks finished just two points behind the Canucks and I think they will advance. Prediction: Sharks in 6

St. Louis (4) vs. Los Angeles (5)
The Blues are the other team I'm rooting for in the West, but can they knock off the defending champions? The Kings won all three games during the regular season. St. Louis has won 11 of the last 13 games, and I think they will carry that momentum into the playoffs. I think St. Louis will win the series, but it'll be tough and they'll need contributions from everyone. Prediction: Blues in 7
