I think I'm losing my mind...

I haven't seen a live hockey game in two months and it's starting to take its toll on me.

I'm already tired of talking about what teams will be good this year, which teams will win the division/conference, which players will improve upon their previous season totals, what holes teams need to fill and I'm definitely tired of talking about what team a certain Swede will decide to play for if he decides to play at all...And the worst part is that we have more than month before even the rookies report to training camp and two months away from the opening of the regular season...

I can't find my DVD of "Miracle", youtube is just not cutting it, I always seem to catch just the end of the "Best of..." replays on regional sports networks and I'm still not cool enough to get the NHL Network on Dish Network...In short, this sucks!

The draft and free agency got me through June, the Tour de France got me through July and the Olympics are doing it's part to get me through August but the funniest side effect of hockey withdrawl is that other people are now starting to look like hockey players...

Let's take a look...

Here we have Justin Spring - member of the Bronze Medal USA Men's Gymnastics Team...

who bears a striking resemblance to....

The Staal Brothers!

Seriously...can't you see it?? Marc, Jordan, Eric, Jared...and Justin! Funny part is that Justin would be the oldest at 24.

Next let's take a turn around the pool...

Silver Medalist Matt Grevers also representing the USA...

looks like...

RJ Umberger!

...but only with his swimming cap on...he's got frosted blonde hair that kind of kills the resemblance to RJ when it's off...that and the fact that he's 6'8''!

So, tell me...am I losing my mind or do these guys really look like hockey players?

Beyond that, what are you doing to get through the summer?? Maybe we can start a little support group for Hockey Addicts in Withdrawl and share secrets. For now, I'm going to go browsing for some fun hockey articles and will report back with my findings :)
