There’s a ton of stuff going on right now, I don’t believe information has ever been tighter and part of that is probably due to the fact that these teams are having the drafts in their own areas. In the past by now, teams would all be at a neutral site and there would be dinners and coffee meetings, and all kinds of things between teams going on….
But most teams are pretty darn locked down as everything approaches, a more deals are connected to possible draft picks…
Jonathan Marhessault would like out of Nashville, but apparently he doesn’t wanna go to a place where he loses money due to taxes. There is one team is interested in a tax-free area and that would be Tampa. I talked to Tampa about this this morning and they said they definitely have been “ conditional meetings about this March…”
Essentially their meeting right now to decide if this is an actual possibility or not, and if it is, what do they wanna do about it. This is a very Tampa way to handle things. It works for them and who’s to say it’s not a good way of handling it. But I wouldn’t say Nashville is shopping him, and I wouldn’t say Tampa has this is the top priority in their war room right now…. Everything can change quickly.
On Tomas Hertl….
The rumor right now is that he’s going to Carolina to open up space for Marner in Vegas. I’m not buying this one. not yet. People have talked to say that there’s a ton of speculation involved and several things that have to happen before this actually could be possible. But logically it makes enough sense for reporters to go with it. My sources in Vegas and Tampa both are telling me really cart before the horse with this. I know New Jersey also has interest in Hertle, as does Detroit… however so far I’ve been unable to confirm any connection with Hertl and Detroit… I have three calls out trying to connect the dots here but everyone right now is just screening as as usual for the next couple days for sure I expect more will come out Thursday and Friday morning for sure.
