Quick Hits: June 14, 2024

1) Appearing on the Nasty Knuckles podcast with Derek Settlemyre and Riley Cote, Flyers captain Sean Couturier revealed that he underwent sports hernia surgery after the 2023-24 season. Couturier said that he feels well and will be fine for the start of training camp. Back in mid-January, Couturier missed two games with an undisclosed injury that was described behind the scenes as a groin issue.

Coincidentally or not, this also marked the point in time where Couturier's season took a significant downturn and never fully got back on track. Through his first 41 games if the season, Couturier posted 29 points -- essentially, three points for every four games -- and averaged 20:03 of ice time. The rest of the season, he had nine points in 33 games and saw his ice time decreased significantly.
