Update: - yes, I get called “broadcast buzz” for this stuff. But Bally’s is throwing in the towel. ESPN announced during earnings call they may not pick up all the Regional Sports Networks. More to come.

Bally’s closing in 2024

Ottawa is a club that I measure Detroit’s growth against in some ways. The timeline for the rebuild is similar, although they’ve just been through a sale and have a lot of other things going on. I’m excited for this one today, but it’s hard to guess how the travel and ice surface will affect each team.

Husso (most of you know) isn’t on the trip and has a brand new addition to the family. There’s every chance that he may not have been focused, and some players come in flying after a new baby is added to the mix. We’ll have to wait and see. Not playing Lyon, as many of you pointed out, now looks like a potentially grave error with back to back games. If Reimer is lights out today, I’d give him both starts.

One quick note, and I don’t like writing it. I may be late in posting game wrap ups. We had a family member fall down a flight of stairs and had a stroke. Heading to the hospital around 1:00 and will probably miss the game. I don’t like sharing this kind of thing, everyone has issues and things they are dealing with. We’re praying for a miracle on this one and have no idea how it’s going to turn out. Best case is spinal fusion and reduced functionality at this point.

In a non corny way, with Thanksgiving around the corner, I’m thankful for all of you. Thank you for letting me live out a part of my dream in writing about Detroit. In 2 more blogs I will have written 900 entries, and that boggles the mind. Happy to be a part of this.

Let me know your predictions on this trip. Wings split (1-1), Wings get 3 points (1-0-1), Wings Sweep, or Wings lose both. We’ll see how you do!
